My name is Jay Swanson - I'm an American writer living in Paris on an artist visa. Paris (yes the one in France) has been my home for years now and I have every intention of staying here for as long as they'll have me. I write science-fiction and fantasy, vlogged daily for 3+ years, and love pizza a little too much. Now I make videos about visiting Paris, traveling in Europe, and try to share what I've learned along the way. I hope you enjoyed what you found.
Links are affiliate links where they can be - meaning if you click through them and buy something, I'll get some pennies. Thanks! (The FTC wants me to tell you that up front)

Well I must say, you would make a great teacher for young folks thinking about life. So with that being said, welcome to your life you are normal. However, I would love to see you expanded on your art and create more. The world needs more art it really does make people feel good. Merci

Schedules are so important, as you say the time just goes and then it's later than you think. On another note, I wish that in travel guides and iteneraries they listed where you can access a place to do your business (pee). Especially in Paris and no I don't want to have to buy another coffee, I'll just have to pee again in 20 minutes. I know there is a book Ou Faire Pipi A Paris (sorry my keyboard does not have the accents), however, it's way before covid and I'm sure lots of changes have happened. It's an issue for many women especially. Anyhoohow, keep up the focus, you are doing so great, love the piano practice!

Why not try devoting one full day a week to writing, maybe Sunday. On that day you don’t vlog, but you will make progress with your other projects, otherwise the writing may never be completed, and I think that would be a shame.

No need to be scared - grab it by the horns and go for it Jay! I really like the sound of your plans. Like the schedule too - a great idea. I would have eaten all the M&Ms long before you even started.

I don’t see how you can find time to write and vlog daily, but I hope you can figure it out.

2-3 hours to edit a vlog every day is a lot. And that is on top of filming, come up with a story, while updating the Paris In My Pocket. Then there are the chores like bathing, washing, laundry, those mondain things most people do. If you've ever took a pen to paper and wrote a lengthy letter you would have known, story writing is an art most of us can't do. It takes time, an inordinate amount of time, actually. Tried, and failed...

Your M&Ms made me chuckle. I also bake for my immunotherapy team and I will be baking M&Ms bars. I opened my large bag of M&Ms and noticed the colors are a tad different, not as vibrant. Thoughts?

Having a schedule /routine gives me a feeling of security, as if I knew what comes next.....as if. Holding on to these plans feels like having a purpose and accomplishment. Why not trick ourselves into thinking we could control the future? 😅 But really, as long as it feels good and doesn't harm us, why not?

I'm fairly new to your channel. I get the idea that many of your subscribers have been around a lot longer and, therefore, it makes perfect sense to them why you're planning your day in M&Ms, but I'm thoroughly confused. Is this something you do periodically to get a visual representation of how you're spending your life? It's not something you do every day, is it? This seems really stressful...so much for the (probably very outdated) cliche of moving to Paris and frittering away your time with a bottle of wine, a baguette, and a leisurely stroll along the Seine. BTW, super intrigued by the hints you dropped about a big project/plan/surprise coming up in the future. I guess I need to keep watching! PS -- Maybe throw in a few Skittles that represent time doing nothing?

it's amazing how Natasha gave up the entire fashion blog and moved to writing full time and becoming extremely successful at it. Good plan to find what you want to be your priority and to then remove what you can stop doing. You do need to sleep and puppies need puppy time :)

Here is my totally irrelevant opinion .... 😊😊. I would drop the itinerary planning. I'm sure that takes quite a bit of time because it's personalized. It's not really 'scalable'. (Unless it is really bringing you joy and fun. Then I'd keep doing it for that reason). But if you are looking for time to write, that would be an easy change. Congrats on your successes!🎉🎉 Keep your north star in front of you!! ( preaching to the choir)😊😊

there's always room for improvement in the sleep department! Apparently the 8 hour standard is also based on men, and women need closer to 9/10!

@JaySwanson its a public holiday here (Australia) so I had 10 hours last night! My short sleep suits well for travelling though. I get to see a lot and still relax 😊
