I am heading further down towards the Southeast region of Turkey where the altitude starts to decrease. My exploration began in the exquisite lake Van where the church of the Holy Cross sits on tiny offshore reefs. Eastern Turkey is an immensely rewarding place to travel despite the long distances, outside of the major centers, and lack of creature comforts.

ABOUT ME:
In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveler and KZfaq creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveler, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.
My travels kicked off with a five-month trip across Asia, after which I moved to China in January 2017 to work as an English teacher-my first time living abroad. I left China in 2018 to fully commit to creating videos on KZfaq, where I share my travels and the cultures I encounter.
Living nomadically since 2016, I settled in England in early 2022 after marrying my British husband, David. Now based in the UK, I continue to travel and share my adventures on KZfaq.

I am a kurd from Agiri (the other side of the lake van) but I live in Uruguay. I left my country because of political situations and I can't go back. This video made me feel my childhood again. Because of this, I watched it with tears in my eyes. Thank you very much for your visit to my country... Muchas gracias.

Good afternoon, Syifa. This is again a spectacular video featuring nature's beauty in abundance alongside the splendid, centuries-old Holy Cross Cathedral standing in serene isolation, and also the beautiful, old Kurdish village in that Bitlis Province. I really like the very hospitable local people - the elders as well as the lovely children. I would like to appreciate your relentless efforts to go solo and explore the remotest places. Best wishes.

What an amazing place, I am so moved by these incredibly warm-hearted and hospitable Turkish/Kurdish people, they remind us how beautiful this world truly is. Crete is a historic and the biggest Greek island and was independent. It’s a very safe island and hospitality you will never forget.. can’t travel this year cause here in Canada that I live we yet to be vaccinated according to my age group over 60 years..I’m there every year still looking for my relatives because we left our village when I was 9 to immigrant to Montréal Canada now 55 years 😉...you have a big heart and thank you for on other historic video you’re to enjoy your stay.

Really excellent video. It is so nice to meet these wonderful Kurdish people and experience how they live. This really pulled at my heartstrings and made me want to help them to improve their lives. Humbling experience. The kids (and adults) became instant celebrities and you gave them wonderful memories for a lifetime. Beautiful, kind people. Thanks so much.
