This was planned for a long time despite knowing what was going to be in the news that day, unless it was a major attack or Jesus was born again then it would be quite irrelevant. @@bijaysitaula7006 the USAF has bought two surplus 747-8 Intercontinentals from Boeing (these two were bought by a Russian airline that folded and were in storage). They are currently getting the necessary modifications to be used by the President. Once both are completed, they will replace this.

They are replacing them with the 747-8. The current Airforce Ones are old as hell and need to be replaced. They are the 747-200 model and are beyond their 30 year lifespan. They don't even make parts for them anymore. So if something breaks they are replacing it with old ass refurbished parts if they don't have the part new. It's sort of disgraceful that the president is flying around in this old hunk of junk.
