Killaire ridden by Lucinda Prior-Palmer was a heavy hunter type and still won Badminton back in the days when there was still roads and tracks and the steeplechase. The chestnut. A Clydesdale cross has been around Badminton and Burghley and put up very credible performances.

It’s so strange to see nice horses at sales. In Australia it’s all abused horses, horses who are secretly lame or you’re bidding against the dogger. At least that’s the reputation. Unless it’s the magic millions or Auction Of The Stars etc.

Yes so true! Although I got a lovely gelding from my last sales. We was in training for the Olympics but the owner had broken her back and he had just been sold around heaps. I did a brand search and found all of his info

Same!! All the horses at auction are there for a reason, and no good reason. Yes there can be a diamond in the rough but its not common. I'm in New Jersey

I'm in Australia and I do agree with you but I would much rather buy a rescue then buy and expensive 3 yr old. I think that the horses in rough shape have a good chance of going to the doggers and I don't want that happening because they all deserve a good home no matter how bad their breeding is or how they look😊

What I've learned from this video: The rumor of it being possible to afford a pony/horse from Ireland is untrue. If I lived IN Ireland, yes maybe. Add on 25% import tax and travel expenses for me and the pony home.... nope, not happening!

On the day of the sale, what was the exchange rate between the euro and the British pound? Like you said, these ponies were proven, ergo, their prices were higher. It’s difficult to compare (from a watcher’s perspective) how much higher. You can learn a lot from watching auctions. That is for sure. I bought my first auction horse last year, and luckily I’m very happy with her, however, it is a unique experience and a crapshoot.

Hey Meg, you made it to Cav an Equestrian Centre Sales. Fair Play to ya. Every November 2nd Sunday is the CSI 1* International Show Grand Prix (1.50m). Some International riders from GBR, SWE. DEN, USA, CAN. At 5:54 where you are looking down the warm-up arena. See where that grey horse is standing? Well in 1997 slowly cantering up that side towards me was a 6 y.o., "" Carling King (ISH) "" ( light ch.,g., by: Clover Hill - Dam: by, Chair Lift (TB), Granddam by ""KING OF DIAMONDS"". Ridden by a young Michael Buckley. It was the way C.K. 'Cantered'. He mini floated. Not putting much impact on the ground. He had a rare hind feet (hooves) movement in Canter. Hardly came off the ground. I liked him Cantering ( David Broome says: " You Can Hear A Good Horses Canter Past You ". ( Not Many Can Judge Them Like 1970 World Champion 'Broomie' ). Before seeing C.K. Jump which was just a good normal jump, nothing big and scopey over 1.30m. But well Balanced and LEVEL In-front over each fence. It was the Irish Horse Boards Young Horse Qualifier for '96 Lanaken (BEL). Rincoola Abú (bay,mare by: Cruising) was in that Class along with Bohereal Clover (dark, bay, stallion 15.3 hh, by: Clover Hill). An odd one has the scopey jump but "Too Careless". "Don't Try" thier hearts out. That's the Irish man and woman bringing in the Dutch, Belgian & German warmblood breeding to destroy the once great Irish Show Jumper 1900 - 1991 cross of blood of old type working Irish Draught Mares crossed with a great bloodied Thoroughbred sire. "" Ambassador, Boomerang, Mister Softee, Rockbarton, Anglezarke, Beethoven, Mill Pearl, Carling King, Cruising, Special Envoy, Ryan's Son, Warrenpoint, Chainbridge, Amadia, Flexible, Jessica V, Irish, Goodbye). Plus The Greatest: "Stroller" a part Connemara ( or maybe small Draught mare x great blood TB ). From: The full "TB" liver ch., g., "Irish" won Olympic Bronze in 1992 (Barcelona). No Irish Bred S.J. horse has won a medal. ( '72: Ambassador: Gold (Ind.)., 1976 Olympic: Kwept ( Full TB Again ! ) Team Silver in Munich, 1980 alternative Olympics in Rotterdam, Ind. Silver Ryan's Son, 1994: Team Olympic Silver Ryan's Son, 1984: Bronze (Ind.) Jessica V, 1988: Olympic Team Silver, Mill Pearl. '92: Irish Oly. Bronze. 1996: Team Bronze "Tomboy". 2000:
