That low-speed tone is used as the doors closing tone for the Montreal Metro.

@@LetsAndGlOfficial If you really want to know the history of that sound, it was not originally the train door chime. It originated from a particular series of Montreal Metro railcar that used a voltage divider to transform the voltage coming from the third rail. When the train accelerates, the voltage divider makes that "dou, dou, dou" sound. As those cars were retired the sound was preserved for historic purposes and is now used as the doors closing chime. The reason ELion manufactured buses use this sound is because the company is based in Montreal.

Fun Fact: the 3 tones are the sound the Montreal's subway trains makes when they start. This sound is well known by all montrealers. Lion is based in St-Jérôme, near Montreal. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fqiolbtnt8jTpo0.html

And if you think it is unique to California, you're *wrong wrong wrong* - why else would Lion have added a plant on the OTHER coast (specifically, in eastern Pennsylvania) - and it's not just there for bus manufacture? Also, Lion has competition merely in electric school buses - none other than the biggest of predators - Thomas Built Buses of High Point, NC (and the eC2 - the follow-on to last year's Jouley - also based on the C2). Low-emission busses (and not just school busses) are, in fact, quite real - WMATA (Washington Metro Area Transit Authority) has zero-emission *transit busses* in their fleet - and they have been there for two years - I've ridden them - so they are in revenue service - right now. In other words - they are anything BUT a joke.

Question: I am a member of the Schoolie environmentalist movement. Essentially adults of any age easily easily buy a used bus for $5K to DIY renovate into something like an RV for less than $15K for total investment of $20K so they can reduce their carbon footprint and save so much money versus buying a house or renting somewhere. The economical benefits are insanely good when a schoolie is built wisely. When or where could one go to get a used electric bus within the same price range of $5K? From an environmentalist perspective it’s a great idea.

I do wish all electric school buses had solar panels, and a generator that way the batteries can get a free charge from the sun, and a generator back up on cloudy, snowy, and rainy days. Solar panels, and a generator can be a life saver during a power outage.

They might order a handful of ones with better ranges, also in the future (like 5-8 years from now) maybe a bus could get 300 miles per charge, that would probably cover most field trips. In the meantime, schools will probably hold onto their diesel buses for long trips.

Since, I only knew electric cars for so many years I just never knew as I have watched Arthur, before seeing this and that's when I discovered thinking like oh, I never thought of electric school buses like were there real one's in real life too so there it is existed I checked searched, like whoa and also I was a bit shocked about not having an old school bus sound anymore and he started to mention that so I was like that's what I'm thinking now at 1:20 and I was thinking the boo-boo-booo sound should've have an old fashion school bus sound still replaced when having no burning diesel energy exhaust at all for traditionalists or like me or anybody who worries about not hearing the old school bus sound anymore that I or we'll missed, I last been on a school bus was last June to Medieval Times outing and so I hope the electric school buses would have the old sounds too rather the boo-boo-booo on all of them should be on most of them, but no gasoline breathing by kids, but hearing a cool old style sound with clean air breathing.

This bus is overpriced, just like most other North American electric vehicles. Sure, the a Tesla also costs 2.5 times as much compared to a regular gasoline car. However, a Nissan LEAF or Hyundai Kona Electric/Kia Niro Electric only costs 50% more than a comparable gasoline car. I guess union labor, mismanagement, and excessive bureaucracy (or something like that) makes things too expensive.

In Quebec and British Columbia provinces of Canada, all power is from hydro, so you are getting rid of 100% of pollution. Please educate me why battery manufacturing creates more pollution.
