Being vegan or low waste isnt cool. It's just being a good human and trying to be better for our planet. Just being a good person and wanting to inspire others is cool. That's what I got from this video. I still eat meat occasionally and I love vegans and vegetarians and their abilities to make food delicious. I respect everyone with different dietary needs or wants. I appreciate people. That's what is cool. Your not cool for just being vegan but you are cool for inspiring others and being heard because maybe they will take that step to be more sustainable.

I can respect that fact that she’s a celebrity and could have anything convenience wise, but yet still works to make sure waste is minimal. That’s awesome
@nette9836
@nette9836 Жыл бұрын
Being low waste is actually quite a privileged position that often takes money and ideal location to do in any measurable way. Getting products at zero waste shops, for instance. Most Americans don't live near one of these so have to buy plastic packaging. Also, having the money and time to buy and cook clean ingredients is a privilege. It isn't easy or cheap to achieve this level of eco-friendliness. And when 70% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck (particularly with recent inflation), life gets even harder.
@freudianslippers6567
@freudianslippers6567 8 ай бұрын
@@nette9836 You're basing that off the US? Most countries in the world don't have low cost junk food, and massive subsidies to unhealthy "foods." Here a 4kg of beans is $4.00 and a package of large chips is $8.00, a block of chocolate is $9.00 and an apple is 0.30c. The US government really needs to look at food production/waste and subsidies because it's very obviously not working in your country. For most of us "clean ingredients" are cheaper, and more readily available than junk. Even just McDonalds, a meal there will set me back $17, while I can make a meal at home for $2.50 with rice, beans, spices and vegetables. I don't even understand how the US manages to make their very average (for other countries) nutritious foods, to be so expensive. My weekly shop is $50, and all I buy is fruit, veg and spices/seeds here and there as I need them. There is something very wrong with your country.

Sterling Silver same🙂. I make homemade jam, lemonade, chutney, lemonade and pickle vegetables etc from my garden and I use glass jars and bottles that my grandma used to have. I give to friends a lot and they always bring me back the jars and they get a new that’s filled with jam or whatever they wish to have. Idk it’s just nice to have that part in life of growing and making your own things, and people love it much more than if you just gifted them a jar of jam from the store. It sort of goes into conversations and it’s really lovely. Guess I’m an old soul because I’m not even 35.

chloe james Are you dumb? Single use plastics are highly inefficient, because they consume vast amounts of energy to make and are then thrown away and clog up landfill, which won’t biodegrade for at least 400 years. Avoiding plastics, especially single use plastics, is crucial to reducing waste and carbon emissions. Buying in bulk reduces packaging and fuel consumption. Your comment has to be trolling, I don’t see how anyone can be that stupid/uninformed.

I don't get why many people use cost as an argument against veganism. Many dissenters say that veganism is a rich person's lifestyle, but you can't get any cheaper than grains and beans and in season produce. Ever wonder why poor uni students often end up being vegan or vegetarian by default? Meat, cheese and dairy is expensive. Of course, vegan food can be expensive if you include lots of more luxury items, but that's the same as any diet.

I've never heard of it before, very intriguing. Waffles are also not that common in Australia, so I never would have thought you could just put it in a waffle iron. I've seen the mochi balls before, but they are always white and already in the ball shape.

There is something to learn from her lifestyle. I think in summary, do not be wasteful. It is an American thing to use paper to wipe kitchen counters etc. But here in Asia, you use rags to wipe everything and just wash it after. Also, buying water in plastic bottles for home use is not a common practice. It is either you boil water or buy water in this 5 gallon container that is reused over and over or buy a portable water filter you attach to a faucet.

Why is that so horrible? It’s her children her choice. We all just need to learn to respect each other’s decisions as parents. Every parent is different.
@lmay8269
@lmay8269 5 жыл бұрын
Serena V But it’s not just her children. Herd immunity is so important, her children not being vaccinated means that people with immunodeficiency’s and children who are too young to get certain vaccines are at risk just from her decision. Also it’s a very selfish thing to do, mothers in 3rd world countries walk for hours just so that their children can get vaccinated, whereas a celebrity in a first country can choose not to. Also many of the arguments people who are anti-vaxx use are disgusting and untrue, such as vaccines cause autism, this is ‘study’ was proven wrong and also I’m sure most people would rather their child have autism than have polio. I stand by my point that anti-vaxxers are horrible and selfish people. It’s not about respecting decisions it’s about caring for others as well and anti-vaxxers obviously don’t.
@whatamievendoinghere5804
@whatamievendoinghere5804 5 жыл бұрын
L May There is absolutely no logic to the idea of herd immunity. We have the highest vaccination rates ever and yet the measles still exists, vaccinated people still get the measles. It’s nonsensical, the entire premise of herd immunity is baloney.
