I grew up in southwest Detroit. I use to goto the club the basement which is in a old church where Eminem had his battle to get him to fame. He grew up on Detroit warren border. If u weren’t from Detroit u wouldn’t know u were in a different city,and making it in Detroit is a accomplishment in its own. He more than deserves everything he gets. The truth he speaks is unreal,especially for a poor Detroit kid. Please keep bringing us music

Because of my job, I have access to almost the entire state of Michigan's public records. According to them, Eminem's house on Winkler Mill Rd actually sold for $1.9 million. Public records also show that the house in Clinton Twp isn't actually his main residence. His home in Sherman Oaks, CA is his primary. His childhood house has actually been torn down. Also, Zillow's "zestimates" are very well-known for being way off in the real estate world, so it's nothing to really go by.

I lived in Detroit twice and walked past Eminem's childhood home at 19946 Dresden Street often. And, yes, it's near 8 MIle Road which is the big cross-street north of Dresden. That house got torched, not demolished. I've spent a lot of time around there. It's not the safest area either.

I live a few minutes away from Detroit and I’ll tell you why. Probably contrary to what you might know, and having visited Detroit a million times and lived in the area my whole life, it’s because it’s a good area to live. There are bad spots in Detroit but it’s gotten way better in the past decade plus. Even tho Detroit gets a bad rap for being dangerous. Most people in Detroit and the area surrounding are really cool and down to earth working class people. When it comes to spending money, that’s a good question!

Someone like Em could buy the property in cash so there’s no mortgage and a house like that is def gonna go up in price. Eminem is my fave rapper, I love all his songs, and I am from the Detroit suburbs where he grew up! He has worked so hard fir all he has. He is truly a great guy, who stays real..doesn't live flashy and gives back . 8 Mile was an awesome movie which he seems so natural in. Keep bringing it EM!

I lived in Detroit twice. It's starting to get more expensive, but not in all areas. The empty suburbs that were once filled with auto workers are still cheap and blighted.

I'd put money into the area I grew up in build my home town area up and help the one's in need the most. Once that's taken care of then move on to something else the ability to have no restrictions and increase the quality of life for the less fortunate people in our society must and will always be my top priority until my end day's. 👊

Good on eminem he worked his ass off to get all of this! I’ve been to hollywood hills, overpriced houses with roads that aren’t even maintained. Property taxes go up and the road quality goes down. It’s actually so bad in the hills that the people who own the over-priced homes actually have to pay to store their expensive sport cars at the bottom of the hill. I’d be pissed! Millions of $$ on a custom house and I can’t even park my car up there? Total bullshit!👍🏽
