This is common for bilingual people. My husband is Hispanic and his first language is Spanish, but when he speaks English, his accent is virtually gone. The only time it light come out is when he is speaking “Spanglish” and was just talking to other family members of his. This is super common. Don’t know why people are making a big deal about it.
