In May 1994, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis passed away at 64 after a battle with cancer. The former first lady died inside her New York City apartment, surrounded by her loved ones and her books. Hailed as one of the most admired women of the 20th century, she was a trailblazer for women’s rights and was known for style and grace, as well as the strength she showed following the assassination of her first husband, President John F. Kennedy. #InsideEdition

I can't help but feel for her poor daughter Caroline, first she lost her father to an assasination, her mother to cancer, and a couple years later her only brother to a plane crash. That poor girl.

It is so sad her brother would not listen to those who knew better than to fly that night in the bad weather..He Chose his path with that choice and took to beautiful women with Him to an early grave... I do not think He really had a sense of who he really was ..being in a famous family with expectations of who you should be....always in the camera lens being stalked by cameras

-4 Subscribers with a hammer addiction my aunt was close friends with her. Jackie usually stayed at their vacation house separate from JFK and white house and lived a few houses away from my aunt. my aunt often had dinner parties ... some Jackie was invited to especially with parties, but anytime my aunt only invited like 2-4 couples and Jackie saw cars in her driveway she ALWAYS invited herself over and peeved my aunt for multiple reasons. it's obvious she was very lonely. my aunt always welcomed her in uninvited anyways. Jackie was also a rebel type not seen on camera. their local bar she'd plop her feet on another chair with poor posture etc.... ( reminds me of me! lol ) and smoked cigs and drank up. but yeah.... many years they were very close friends. in my aunts will ... lots of stuff my mom inherited .. then I inherited of items Jackie and JFK sat on, ate off of and drank from etc... that's about it. you know furniture and crystal glasses etc... PS my aunt died before she did

One of the nicest things she ever did for people was, after JFK's funeral, she got a lot of mail from people all over the country, expressing their condolences to her about her husband being killed and her being a widow to raise two children on her own. Jackie spent day and night writing back personally to each and every person who wrote to her. She of did it out of thanks, but I think the real reason was to help the people that wrote to her with with pain and suffering they were enduring. It took her a couple of months, of her writing day and night, but she did it.

You'd have to be blind not to see in Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis that privileged, Miss Porter's upbringing. It's a culture in and of itself. And I'd like to add to that culture the Seven Sisters, of which Vassar was one before going co-ed. I digress here to say I saw that same cultural refinement in movie stars Gene Tierney and Kate Hepburn. Preppy, as we used to call it.

@@Iceis_Phoenix Marilyn was a great person, Kennedys killed her because she was going reveal the truth about the Kennedys amd the affairs. Jackie wasn't the women you guys think of. She two faced person, she nice in front of the cameras. Behind close doors she the opposite and didn't like MLK.
