In my life, I've known a few people who are just like Llewyn. Not necessarily folk musicians, not even necessarily "artists" at all, but just hopelessly romantic, good, true, lost people, people who are trying like hell to "figure it all out" and have no choice but to march to their own beat in this harsh world. This film is a beautiful lament, an ode to those people, and people like them.

I was 25 and deeply depressed, when I watched this for the first time. I felt nothing at that time. But then I watched this movie and I felt everything. I understood my seemingly "unfair" reactions towards the people in my life. They became legitimate through Llewin's suffering (Oscar Isaac's brillinat acting and the Cohen brothers' amazing directing) This is why this is one of my favorite movies of all time

Rather than having a mature, respectable opinion, you degrade and insult her and anyone else that likes her? As if you know them so well? Everyone has their own opinion, but learn to have some respect for how hard she works and for anyone that looks up to her rather than just judging her based on her looks and one movie. I think she's extraordinary in many different ways. But I'm not gonna go and tell you you're wimpy and stupid for thinking otherwise. I mean "dog face" ???? Really??? So dismissive and ignorant.
@fluff975
@fluff975 10 жыл бұрын
No it's not the same thing. You're making fun of her and anyone who looks up to her. I'm not making fun of you, I'm just defending her and her fans by telling you to at least have some respect. Who are you to say we are all the same when you categorize people who find her attractive as wimpy? So by that logic you must be wimpy too? That's a very vague statement. Would you consider this (as you described) dog faced terrible actress "the same"? Plus I never said I was better than you, I was just saying that it's rude to demean others who are fans of her simply because you think she has a dog face and can't act. I wouldn't care if you had that opinion but if you're gonna criticize people who think otherwise, to me, that's just wrong.

I watched this movie and liked it and thought to myself "that was a good flick." But then I felt compelled to watch it again and from then on I've been in love with the movie and the performances. It reminds me a little of Catcher In The Rye how the main character slums around, trying to figure himself out. This is by far one of my favorites of 2013 along side my personal favorite, Her by Spike Jonze

I might be biased because I do consider the Cones to be the finest american movie directors in America....There was something so profoundly sad and beautiful about this move that a few days later is still inside me...Hard work doesnt always pay off in life and neither does talent...ANd the movie is constructed like a folk song....starts off with a random story at first, goes into something completely different and in the end we end up with the same place where we began but now we know a lot more...I always considered Fargo and A Serious Man to be their best movies, but this movie is better....

Gabriele Demaria There was a quirky Dylan biopic called I'm Not There, the artist transcends the man, blah, blah. I was just thinking that, in many ways, this is a better Dylan biopic, in that it captures the essence of the New York scene Dylan emerged from, even though he's not really in it. Punning and pretension in short.

"Nuff' said" huh? Because you have a hard-on for some random actress that's played very few parts in a few movies and shows that few people have seen, and I have never heard of this girl, means that I don't know much about film? Thanks for saying that. Because I thought you might come back with a halfway decent reply, but it turns out that it's only because I have never heard of the girl you have a crush on that you'll never even see in person.
