Dude, I 100% can relate. The way that the thoughts and obsessions linger with you for WEEKS. And they cause literal panic attacks, and it feels like your entire world revolves around that obsession, and it feels like you will never recover from it. It's truly awful, just awful. I'm glad you're doing better, and thank you for sharing your story.

Thank you so much for sharing!! I can completely relate, as I also suffer from OCD and intrusive thoughts. My OCD is so bad at times that I'll actually take pictures of the light sockets in my house before I go out the door to "convince" myself that certain appliances are unplugged. The anxiety will always be present, but there are coping mechanisms one can can use to get through the fear. Having a good support system is, as you mentioned, invaluable to individuals living with OCD and can often change our perspectives on how we view ourselves and the world. Thanks for your advice!!! :-)

As someone with OCD, i'm extremely proud of you Tyler. It's not exactly easy sharing what you feel when you're hopeless cause that's what OCD practically does to you. The panic attacks, when you see the world functioning just about normal but you're stuck with some rituals and invasive thoughts you can't help. Phases where it gets real terrible but you have to keep going while also preparing yourself for the possibilities of facing it all over. Sometimes people even making you feel guilty saying it's not that bad or drawing comparisons with their normal checking habits. You're lucky to have a support system. LOVE.

This gave me chills. I'm 44 and I've been diagnosed since 11. I've always been a worrier since I can remember my thoughts but it was when I got my tonsils removed and when I got home with an hour, I felt something slide in my throat and it was the blood clot and I began bleeding out. That was my turning point from just a sensitive kid to fighting my thoughts everyday.

that is so relatable, its like your always negotiating and making sorts of deal with your own mind. at some point its also like your being blackmailed by that voice in your head. its hard. I've been called names in the house like insane, near to insane, they even told me I look like i was enjoying doing those rituals all the time. for me, I can just try my mightiest best to stop doing the rituals, I can. But the intrusive thoughts i just cant simply put them down and thats the master i serve the rituals for. its so hard to filter your own thoughts, to control them. But i have always wanted to live normal and feel normal like the other ones in my age.

The power in admitting your faults is understated. I am diagnosed with ocd/ anxiaty mixed with agoraphobia. I am scared if I go far away from home something bad will happen when I am not close. I obsess that I am unwanted and defected because of my childhood. And that's the biggest battle of my ocd. ♡ your not alone.

a lot of people dont understand ocd in its totality in a most basic realistic set up of how it is in normal basis. Even informative videos lack the ability to really transcend what is ocd and just how it is for someone who suffers from it. We need more testimonies and sharing of personal stories and experiences like yours which is really raw and realistic. Not just simply teaching definitions and illustrative examples or scenarios, but transcending the feeling as well. People around us need to take a real grasp of how we feel so that they can truly understand and support us. Btw, its good that you have a strong support system, i dont really have a lot of people around me and i honestly dont have an idea how therapeutic or helpful will it be opening up and talking it out to others.

I don’t really know if I have OCD but all I know is I count so much…I was told that “7” was God’s number while “6” was the devil’s…sometimes when I’m in bed..tired..My mind keeps telling me to stand up and touch the door knob 7 times. Sometimes click the mouse 7 times, refresh the computer 7 times, check if your assignment have been passed 7 times, blink seven times (there was a point where my sister and parents thought I had an issue with my eyes, I really couldn’t explain it to them that It’s just me…my mind? I had no idea what OCD was before, I thought it was only me). I’d see a stone while walking and I can’t stop thinking about it, I know I just have to touch it. Just touch it. 7 times. I get really frustrated that I have to do these things, I can’t seem to convince myself that I’m doing nonsense and I dont have to do these things. EDIT: -When I watch movies, I NEED to see every single word, clip, letter, I MUST not miss a single thing. This means when I watch with other people, they get frustrated when I turn back the movie… -When I climb up the stairs of our bed (double bed) My foot has to touch the stairs 7 times… -I MUST check the stove after I cook. -I need to touch the buttons of a vending machine 7 times -pull the switch of the fan 7 times -touch my palms on both hands 7 times -touching the mouse 7 times I’m doubting if I have OCD since I’m not really the cleanest person…I just dont know why I’m counting and that seems to be the only symptom I have.

Cleaning is just one example of OCD and isn’t something that you have to experience, and is really just misinformation from the media, a stereotype of ocd. Everything else that you are describing sound EXACTLY like OCD. Get some help, I promise it’s worth it. As someone diagnosed with OCD, therapy really does help.

You have OCD for sure. You must get and deserve support with this, as it won't just go away. There is also a form of religious OCD that can be triggered in childhood. It is recognised because many, many people have it. You aren't alone. Speak to someone you trust, it doesn't have to be family. Take care ✌🏼

@@mentalhelp8474 well thanks and you seem to be very young . I’m 46 years old . I have being struggling with ocd since I was eighteen. But I did not know what it was . I have hypochondriac ocd and pure ocd and existential ocd But one hundred percent stress is the number one trigger . So it would be good if you address that issue . I call mine crisis not spells because that’s what they seem to me . I hope you find the way . I stay away from too much stress and that’s my road into the light .

I have not gotten medication because my mom doesn't really believe me and I just can't stop feeling like everything is my fault when it isn't. I have to step an even amount of times before I stop. I have to make my drawings perfect or I recycle it out and restart. My room is perfect paradise. Worst of all, 99% of my classmates don't have it and they don't understand me so I tend to throw myself into studying.

Sometimes it's related to rules for living in order to survive in the world. Another thing with Ocd is people sometimes feel their work is not good so they keep on doing it. Sometimes the stuff is clean but ocd hullucinations make it look dirty

Thanks to you opening up about your mental health issues. I no longer have the fear of sharing the story of my struggles that I have faced in my life either. 😊 I have also been suffering from epilepsy for the last few years 😔. And I am on lifetime medication

Bro I had ocd from 14 age and it was till the core of sucide but God saved me , I have it still now , and there's anxiety In me for not doing the compulsion but I just want my self to repair gradually and I will pray for you too , you seem so sober💙 your a diamond 💙 ocd is exhausting and ig we have to live with it , and I just have a tip that works not 100 percent but yes , stay busy in the work which builds your future 💙, becuase it's okay if something bad happens cuz u had gone through bad things but u survived 💙 in short your strong try to write ur thoughts on paper, I know the feeling wasn't good at all of bad things💙 and ask God for help , ocd is freaking exhausting

Now, imagine having more than one of these OCD forms (and suffering EVERY SINGLE DAY, MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY), then getting lambasted by SJWs for not caring about politics… Imagine that. Obviously - this goes for any other debilitating mental condition. Point is: Do not fucking tell or guilt someone into feeling a certain way about something. They’re going through their own life experience. Respect theirs as your experience ought to be. P.S. OCD in particular has MOUNTAINS of guilt issues.

I'm not perfect I wish I didn't have intrusive thoughts. I love God eventhough we suffer and deal with things because the world is cruel. Yes I need to tell someone about my intrusive thoughts.
