I followed the road north of Pedernales in the Dominican republic and went where it took me.
I ended up crossing over into Haiti once again, except this time I was not expecting this...

40 glorious minutes, this stuff is better than Netflix, I’ve just ordered takeout and I’m about to indulge in this, I’m writing this before watching as I’m waiting for my food. This became my favourite KZfaq channel the second I found it, I mean I have the bell notification on, I’ve binge watched all of the videos. I love it so much. Thank you, Kurt for blessing us with your adventures. In this social media space with content filled with luxury videos about this and that, this channel shows us just how much beauty there is in the world when you open yourself up to it fearlessly. Stay safe, Kurt. You deserve all the success.

He walked into a country notorious for kidnappings, in the most rural part (i.e., no tourists and really hardly anyone!), unaccompanied, with no one knowing where he was going, and ... He got stuck with a "guide" that he didn't ask for or want, was video taping people who didn't want to be videoed, and .... He got suckered into have a voodoo ritual performed on him that he now owes many thousands of dollars for and ... His life may have been threatened, if he doesn't pay the money and ... He led the people back to where he was staying and ... He still MAY BE kidnapped (this video was "odd" to me) and yet ... You consider him street clever? Okay ... I won't believe he's safe until after he's off the island.

You have to find a balance. What Kurt’s doing seems appealing but is also quite dangerous. He gets away with it cos he’s a strong man who is friendly, speaks Spanish and has a camera - which can scare people off as they think he’s live-streaming or something. You got to find a point where you feel comfortable. Doing what he’s doing isn’t for everyone and it’s probably best you should have a travel partner, have guides etc

Humans biggest strength and greatest weakness is our astounding ability to adapt to difficult circumstances. It can be a great blessing, we inhabited every corner of the world. It can also be a great curse. We get used to things easily that perhaps we shouldn't. @csgo sounds like you need to get off the tourist routes. It can work both ways. Tourists often travel to cheaper/ impoverished countries to get better value for money, while expecting the world for their $. This does drive a tourist trade, however those who are uneducated are unlikely to gain all the benefits without having to hustle. My best travel experiences have happened well away from to tourist areas where as aforementioned above, people are genuinely friendly, inquisitive, inviting and do not want anything in return.

You can tell Kurt is an old soul and a very peaceful one by the way people are so accepting of him. It's very special to watch. Keep up the great work and amazing videos.

The hardest part of these journeys I bet is when you wanna say good bye to people like Carlos Luis and his family ! True human beings! 🙌🏽 🙏🏼 God bless him and his family, and thank you for showing us the world 🙏🏼♥️

This a reminder of how much we take for granted. Yet at the same time, despite what we think is lacking from those villagers' lives, they are still able to make room for joy in their lives. They raise their families with love and work for their food. It's not all that different from us. Sometimes I feel like all the luxuries and privileges we have just allow for more time to squabble over nonsense politics and compete over attention from strangers on social media. It's more time to wallow in mental illness and feeling sorry for ourselves. In the end, hard work keeps you focused on what really matters. Those villagers, and Kurt, have already figured this out.

Yea but they got no rent or mortgage or any main bills , their life is poor but pure in nature

@@Serbian1985 exactly. I was thinking "simple", but I think the word "pure" is more accurate, as they're removed from the pollutants of modern life that tend to bring negative energy.

@@deepg7084 Many people in the west choose to have simple lives in rural areas and grow their own food. Like the Amish. These videos dont show the bad side of life there, like no medical care, and little police protection. There is a lot of violence and murders, voodoo and witchcraft. A girl or a woman has no protection from sexual abuse and domestic violence. There are few old people because lifespan is shorter. We shouldnt forget the reality and hardships these people face.
