Great design does not need any improvement except for the modernisation of equipment. The B52 is another prime example fo this. That beauty first flew on 15 April 1952; 71 years ago. It is still the backbone of the USAF bomber division. And will continue to be for another few decades.

Not only beautiful but 'dramatic' we had a fabulously dramatic plane once, the Handley Page Victor, it flew so well it could leave the ground at taxiing speed!

Listen. I just got a glimpse movie depicting ancient warfare India. These so called primitive people had a primitive weapon that toasted hundreds of their enemies in minutes, consisting of 2 cannonballs connected by strings to a very large fabric tarp soaked in a flammable substance.
