As an American, I'm definitely awed by the "BONE", especially theB-1's #2 clip as the Dyess AFB,TX "BONE" lights up, BRUTAL!! However as an avid Avro fan I will always love the Vulcan, especially watching footage of "558" in her glorious final flight years but that coastal shot of the two Lancasters is impressive! On my "bucket" list though, is to catch some -15's @ the "Mach Loop"!! Thanks for all of your videos, keep them coming!

Back in the 1960''s and 70's I lived right down the street from South Weymouth, MA Navel Air Station. Each year we all looked forward to the arrival of the Blue Angels for their annual air show at the base. My older brother and I would climb the highest trees on our family farm and watch the entire show as it happened from our runway view to following their flight path over eastern Plymouth County. My favorite was the sound of the WWII dive bombers and the other carrier based vintage planes. Another perk of living close to the base was the show before the show when the Angels and Fat Albert, their C-130, that would arrive on Friday afternoon as the local schools let out. The only negative to living that close to the Air Base was the noise, especially during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I still occasionally have bad dreams of the constant sound of the Jets and the Submarine Warfare Lockheed P-3 Orion's which flew day and night sorties throughout that very stressful time in our idyllic world living in our small farm of only 25 acres. It's all gone now as the base was closed in the late 80's and it's now a shopping mall and our farm was split into a few massive McMansions. Like most I grew up with, we could no longer pay the taxes on the land and it the land was worth so much more. All seven of my siblings are now living all over the US but we all still have great memories of living near the NA Base. Thank you for the good and some not so good memories of seeing the Blue Angels and the constant sound of what a Navel Base sounds like when War is on your doorstep.

Great video. Growing up in the 60's/70's a lot of these machines would be flying overhead. Vulcans, Phantoms, Spitfires, Mustangs, Hunters, Starfighters. Me and my mate Ian would listen for a moment and call out the plane on the sound of the engine and see who had the correct plane. Fun times. Never got see a Lightning go overhead. My favourite machine.

Epic compilation Bob, so many special clips, The static camera for the Blue Angels was very nice, the Vulcan ones are very special, If I'm not mistaken I'm sure the A400 take off might have been the Spanish A400 from RIAT 2019, pretty sure I bagged quiet a few photos of it, as it lifted and banked over from the campsite I was in.

For me the best footage is 'XH558 Low bank angle turn' this one clip shows just how agile the Vulcan was, they are a massive delta and float for a long time, I know this as I have flown model aircraft for 30+ years and many deltas as they are just a delight to fly. also the footage reminds me that 'less is more' so including the foreground told me what they big tin triangle was doing in the air and just how low it was against the ground. great stuff and well filmed as always. Paul
@bobsurgranny7 ай бұрын
Glad you could appreciate and enjoy that clip and how it was filmed - it's one here that really stands out for me too, I'll never forget that moment peeping over the camera to see it for real and thinking this is gonna be nice and low over the hill. I'd say with four mighty olympus engines behind you, you've always got a fair chance of getting out of trouble losing height in a tight turn like that too 😉

12:30 The U-2 coming in for a touch and go. Then mil power is applied and just as the engine spooled up the a/c lifted off again with ease, actually lept into the air. Some of the more current airframes have the same(very very similar) engine as used in the B-2 Spirit, but just one, not 4. The non afterburning F118 makes around 19,000 pounds of thrust. That's a lot of jam for a jet like the U-2 with an empty weight of 16,000pounds.

I'd replace the plywood van floor while the existing one is still intact enough to trace onto it. Then paint it with epoxy paint or epoxy garage floor coating, so you can keep the van smell-free and be able to mop up future spills, grill-dumping grime, etc. But if you want to keep smelling oil, grease, mildew, and whatever, go right ahead. Just remember that you'll have to replace the floor before selling it anyway if you don't want to take a big hit on price/condition. Might as well enjoy the clean new floor yourself in the meantime.

Interesting that the lead F18 at 1:40 doesn't raise his undercarriage. He seems to pull up straight off the runway, whereas the following aircraft accelerates annd raises the gear befure pulling up. Don't think I've seen a take off done like that before.

Does anyone know what makes the Vulcan engines so loud? It's not as if they had whole lot of thrust...

0:30 was this the other day? I was there when they did a really low take off that looked similar

The negative G by the Typhoon was nothing compared to what the Swedes did in the Saab Viggen, ooh that was some cracy pilots, and a avesome aircraft on so many ways at the time

Looked pretty intense there to me, prob the highest neg g pull I've seen. I can imagine the swedes chucking the Viggen jets around too though 😉 Swedes made some awesome jets for sure

@@bobsurgranny sure do. btw, both Eurofighter and Saab Gripen has the brittis aerospace tec, sharing fly by wire systems etc. never seen what the Gripen actually can do, but by tecnical specs, is should do better then all others. Light, powerful, and built as unstable and reactive as possible controlled by computers to make it performe . guess they are not allowed to do these kind of maneuvres at show like they used to do

it just has to be the BONE in full afterburner while taking off.

Hard to beat that for an exhilarating buzz! Glad you enjoyed the sights and sounds of these moments I've managed to capture over the years 🤗👍

@@bobsurgranny If only the B52s had afterburners. Not that would be a noisy sight. 😁

Strange seeing a plane of that size drift up so steeply like that, would give some serious butterflies to me I know that much
