A small but important correction. Soviet Union didn't just 'lose' 27 million people. Up to this point German army has been taking countries one after another. Poland, Denmark, Norway, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxemburg, Yugoslavia, Greece. Many countries have decided to join forces with Germany: Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Finland. This was just 1st of September 1939 to June of 1941. The German army - as well as Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian and Finnish troops - that have also participated in the attack on the Soviet Union btw - has never been stopped until the battle for Moscow (1941-1942), Stalingrad (1942-1943) and Kursk (1943). This is where the main European forces of Germany were stopped, destroyed and started to retreat. And never stopped retreating until the Soviet soldiers raised the red flag over the Reichstag building in Berlin. The combined Allied troops have only landed in Normandy on D-Day - 6th of June 1944 - when the Soviet army was already clearing Europe of the German and Axis troops. I have just recently watched a video by the channel called Редакция [Editorial] where the journalists interviewed veterans of the Great Patrioric War and one of them said that - while clearing Vienna - they were ordered to take care not to destroy all the historical buildings, so they had to fight without using artillery. And they have payed lives for that. Things like these is why the Soviet Union has lost 27 million. Things like this and the mass extermination of the Soviet soldiers and civilians on the occupied territories and in concentration camps. It is seldom talked about, but any Communist Party members were prime targets for extermination - not just jews. Although the jewish people have suffered greatly. But slavs were also deemed to be subhuman, killed in industrial quantities and treated in most inhumane ways that one can imagine. The allied effort in the Western Europe as well as Lend-Lease material help from the USA are greatly appreciated and every single lost life is a tragedy, but the Allies sure took their sweet time and have arrived to Germany just at the point to get their share of the spoils of war and 'stop the evil commies from taking over all the Europe' and especially the UK - which, as far as I am awere, have not fought a single battle in that war on their own soil. And the Red Army could not face the combined Allied forces after all the previous efforts, so they have basically said: 'well, we have liberated Europe, our armies are standing in the middle of it, so what is it gonna be? peace? okay. we'll be taking all the territories that we have just libarated and you take what you have liberated'. And then, of course, the French, the British and Americans have united their shares of the captured Germany and unified their efforts in the Cold War. All of this is very seldom talked about in the West, as far as I am aware. US came to help their friends in Britain and won the war against the evil Germans for them. Unfortunately, they did not manage to deal with the evil commies and had to deal with them making trouble all over the world during the Cold War, but commies are almost as bad as you know who, everybody knows that - this is the gist of a common Western view on the war. Alot can be said about the Soviet attack on Finland and the partition of Poland between the Soviets and Germany (I am not using the other n-word, because YT is shadow-blocking these comments, not because I think that Germany is just that) and the role that this has played, for example, in the participation of the Finnish forces in the siege of Leningrad. Or the questionable politics in the Soviet army and diplomatic relations with Germany that may have played the role in the catastrophic losses on the front during the first year of the war. It is a touchy subject. But these are the basics of why we talk about the Great Patriotic War that had started in 1941 with the attack of the German forces on the Soviet territory. Everybody knew that there would be war. The Soviets were bidding for time to industrialize and prepare - as well as for buffer territories. Now, as to whether this does excuse their actions or not, everybody can decide for themself. I personally would simply urge everybody to keep in mind all of the above while passing judgement.

In the West, many also do not know that among the losses of Russia/the USSR out of 27 million people, only 8 million were military, i.e. 19 million people were civilians, killed, tortured in concentration camps, burned alive or starved to death. Among these 19 million civilians are 2 million Soviet Jews out of a total of 6 million who died during the Holocaust. These figures need to be known and compared to understand the losses of Soviet/Russian citizens during the Great Patriotic War. I.e., to understand the severity of the victims and the depth of the genocide, it is also necessary to compare with the losses of America and Britain. America lost 418,000 soldiers, and Britain lost 380,000. And the Soviet Union has only 19 million civilians. And now Russia is fighting again with the heirs of those Nazi beasts who committed their atrocities during World War II.

Many foreigners do not know that, in fact, the Second World War did not begin in 1939, when Hitler attacked Poland, but earlier, with the attack of Hitler and Poland on Czechoslovakia, in 1938 with the participation of Britain, France and Italy. This is the Munich agreement, without which Hitler's industrial formation would have been impossible, since there was an industry for tanks in Czechoslovakia. But, in the West, it is not accepted to talk about it and remember it and it is forbidden. Otherwise, their role in the formation of Hitler will be clear.

We literally study Talvisota in school. At least we did when I was in school. I also read Mannerheim's memoirs, and where I now live (Leningrad region) it's a well known topic, especially in the ceded regions and towns, like Vyborg (former Viipuri), Priozersk (former Käkisalmi) etc. And actually it was TREMENDOUSLY important for the whole war effort, since the whole point was to put the border further away from Leningrad. If that wasn't done, Leningrad most probably would have fallen to the Germans.

Our dearest Russian allies, please do kindly acknowledge that the vast majority of the native population of the United Kingdom ever have and shall feel an immense sense of intellectual, cultural and societal kinship with the people of your sacred nation, contrary to common political misconception. Equally, I can assure you that a considerable segment of the electorate of the United Kingdom would commend you if you were to consider legally ‘eliminating’ the political/senior lessers of our ailing constitution. Whilst this doesn’t *necessarily* constitute my personal perspective, the present political class of the ‘west’ are just as much our enemies as they are your own. We are fellow Europeans who consider you as among our closest allies, friends and counterparts, with whom we share many cultural similarities. Now is the time that we Europeans must combine our masterful intelligence to enable Continental Europe and East Asia to reclaim the title of world class majesty in tandem with effortless prosperity, whilst justly destroying those who foolishly conspire against us. With most distinguished regards, the United Kingdom 🇷🇺❤🇬🇧
