The habs made the playoff 3 times since Bergevin is in place, I have no problem with him. There is a lot of good young players among the team that could make a difference as soon as next season. I feel like this year they did the right thing drafting a bunch of centers and maybe next year they’ll get some much needed young defensemen if they still finish in the bottom of the league. Every cup winners had to go through a rough phase except maybe Boston, so I’m willing to go through it as a fan.

This comment section ages like fine wine. Retooled a lifeless team into a playoff team in one summer all while freeing up massive cap space. On top of that, they’re the youngest team in the nhl and the prospect pool is arguably top 5 now. Suzuki, poehling, Kotkaniemi, Romanov, ylonen, brook, primeau, ikonen... well done Marc. Best Montreal GM since I’ve been alive.

Power skating courses is the key in all hockey development. Bring the top 20 prospects together on one rink, with 3 or 4 power skating coaches, (videotaped) and have them do/skate, 2 one hour sessions per day, four hours apart, for 10 straight days. Miracles happen before your eyes, when players are properly power skated, nourished and rested between sessions............ Remember, Noah's Ark was built by AMATEURS and the TITANIC was built by so called EXPERTS ... Think out of the box and you will succeed.

People don't understand hockey, they think a team will be good forever, habs poor drafting reflected on their roster, it happens all the time to many teams, the habs never had a chance to win in the first place anyways even before they traded Subban, habs have a beautiful future down the middle now, in 3-4 years it will be one of the best if it all goes well Kotkaniemi-Poehling-Danault-Olofsson + DLR would be a great middle and if Olofsson becomes what he is projected, he would be shifted to the wing, I am hoping if Kotkaniemi is ready for the NHL this season they put him with Lehkonen and Armia as a line, 3 Fins would light it up in my opinion, not to mention Armia and Kotkaniemi are very close friends, if you look at this line it is a dream line for coaches, possibly perfect chemistry, all 3 are prior to their primes giving them opportunity to build, Lehkonen is a sniper, Kotkaniemi is a playmaker and Armia is a power forward (No I am not making Chel 18 references) If Armia is put in a position where he can excel and Lehkonen has a rebound year I can see both these guys scoring 15-25 goals and since they are relatively young they can probably still build on skill aswell. We got a good future on offense (Drouin, Domi, Kotkaniemi, Poehling, Lehkonen, Hudon, Olofsson, Scherbak, Armia, Danault, Peca for all players under 25 and Gally and Shaw being 26 just entering their true prime) and now we're at a point where next year the habs will probably look to do a defensive draft, currently there aren't many known players but I doubt the habs will do as bad as they did last year, meaning I doubt they will get Jack Hughes (Proj. #1), if they get a pick between 5-10 it would be ideal but I think they are finishing more so around 10-15, hopefully if they trade Pacioretty they can get a 1st rnd, a Dman prospect who can jump in and a 2nd line C, maybe even a 2nd rnd or 3rd rnd or both if Bergevin pushes teams hard enough (he wont) that he gets dealt to a team that does slightly worse than us allowing us for a better pick and then depending on who is available maybe we can move up or down, more picks the more flexible you can be in the draft.

Wtf Canadiens fan really? Season hasn't even started and you want Bergevin out from picking Kotkaniemi? You guys haven't even see him playing for Canadiens yet. Also you guys forget that not only Canadiens missed on Zadina, but so did Senators and Coyotes as well !! If 3 teams don't wanna take him it must tell something isn't right about the guy. And so what if he was prospected to be in top 10-20, someonee like Tarasenko was drafted 16 overall and i think i don't have to even remind on Datsyuk and Jamie Benn. The fact is Canadiens need tall & strong center what Kotkaniemi is. I'm not defending on Bergevin here, i also keep him as terrible gm but for god sake give the guy at least chance to prove himself ?
