Whitney Houston was one of the biggest singing stars of her generation, but her life was cut short 10 years ago when she was found dead in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel. Now, we’re learning more about the tragic circumstances of her final days. She was staying at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in the days leading up to the 2012 Grammys, where she was set to perform. Inside Edition spoke with Gerrick Kennedy, author of the new book “Didn’t We Almost Have It All: In Defense of Whitney Houston.”

Never take life for granted, because we may never know when we will see light again. Life is so precious that we often think that this will be a last birthday, a last wedding, a final graduation, etc. Never Take Life For Granted.

I was just nine when I first heard her in 83. I tried to sing like her growing up. I wanted that voice. I can't shake this felt like I lost a family member.

So what disturbs me is she didn’t have a support system to keep her clean. She filmed a movie called Sparkle just before she died and they required her to do drug tested the whole time she filmed. She looked, sounded good, and stayed clean as well.
