I don't use the word slaves anymore. They were kidnapped children, teenagers, and young adults - victims of an international human trafficking ring. The word slave is dehumanizing. If someone kidnapped you to another country, are you just that "slave" or are you still a whole person? I know we don't know all of their names, but we know they were human beings, kids, artists, comedians, teachers, parents who were stolen from their lives, families, dreams and potential. We need a more humanizing way to describe these strong and incredible survivors, than the monolithic shame-filled word, "slave".

Like all illegal activity people can only estimate or guess. One thing that's ignored is, the Captain of the Clotilda said in his journal he was offered his pick from over a thousand naked slaves. The fact the kidnappers descendants and the people who were kidnapped descendants are still alive and can be “officially” connected (even though the kidnapped descendants know who they are), have even more proof to their history. They are definitely owed reparations and more. Clearly human trafficking 😢

@rdallas812 жыл бұрын
American slave ship? Isnt that funny how they word these things as if Americans owned any of them. Who owned those slave ships? Do some research. Every one was registered to the British empire. Many were owned and registered by Jewish owners. Who owns the diamond mines and gold mines in Africa? Connect the dots. Slaves didn't just get on those ships. People were traded for European goods by their own African countrymen; rounded up and traded or sold to.the highest bidder. Look in Africa today. The presidents of 7 countries in Africa were overthrown by military leaders in a year. Look in America today. 50 dead in Chicago alone in one weekend and not a single cop involved and not a single white man involved- black on black crime. Spirits and principalities in high places none of you can see. I see. God bless us all. Bible says nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. What is a kingdom? Do the math. It all goes back to sin. The love of money and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is taking the entire world for one hell of a ride and this is the beginning of the worst times ever in the history of the world.
@augustnoon15482 жыл бұрын
Although I don’t specifically follow the Bible’s teachings, I do admire the philosophy it tells, like what you stated about our darkest days to come. As for the black community, people fail to realize that the people who sold the slaves were black as well. All to often people are confused with the facts on how black slavery was started. There’s so much pain and suffering in the black community and most of it is from black on black crime. It really erkes me whenever someone cries out racism when a black, male or female, is killed by law enforcement (I don’t deny that there isn’t racism in law enforcement nor do I not see a need for reform and most of it isn’t justified), or a host of stores, including grocery chains, refuse to help out the impoverished black communities because of theft. In the grand scheme of things, there’s a whole lot of issues that are refused attention, one being black on black crime. If it wasn’t for greed, ignorance or the governments refusal to actually help the black communities problems, the world would be in better place. Every one just needs to wake up and start helping each other, instead of looking through life from a toilet paper roll. Before calling me a racist because “I’m singling out the black community”, this applies to every community. Look at the facts, before jumping to conclusions and continuing to look through a toilet paper roll.

@@augustnoon1548 worse than that. This very story is sanitised to tell a very racially biased narrative. Ignored are some very inconvenient facts: 1. The survivors of the Clotilda all told a similar story. It was 'slaving season' and a Dahomey slaving party came to their village and slaughtered anybody who had no value and took the rest. 50-90% of slaves died in Africa, at the hands of African slave traders. 2. The captain wrote down what happened in his log. The Prince of the dahomey took him to a pen with over a thousand naked slaves and told him up pick out the ones he wanted. He then offered to brand them for him and the captain refused. 3. The Dahomey refused to give up slaving and the British had to bombard them to stop.

You trying to blame reporters for hate that has always been here against Black people makes you suspect and guilty of racism. Just how should Black people respond to 402 years of continuous unjustified mistreatment by the colonizers and their descendants.
