The Clotilda, the final ship to bring slaves to the United States, has been hidden in the swamps of Mobile, Alabama for generations. The search for it is a stark reminder of the past and offers proof of family histories that resonates with the families that still call this small town home. #BlackHistory #AmericanHistory

The past has evidence even today. No matter how wrong an how they try to dismiss or deny even lies CAN'T hide the past, there is a EVIDENCE OF THE PAST.

Most interesting to watch a journalist last names Raines investigate this story. Particularly since I am a Raines and I have always wanted to be a journalist from the time I started middle school. However I chose to teach. Some of Ellis and Lewis were settled in Georgia and married into my paternal line. I couldn’t not be more invested in this story.

I am disgusted by so many things that was done by greed. Our Government , at least some knew what was happening as they got a nice sum of pay to keep quiet about Clotilda .Then there were the Indians that suffered greatly and still suffer. Many of us feel bad about these crimes against humanity. Even loyal service Dogs were left in Vietnam to be killed by orders of our top Brass. During the Civil War , thousands of Horses that were ridden by the Soldiers were slaughtered by order from a high ranking official while grown Men wept. I will never understand the willful actions to harm others and the need for greed when most will help if you ask. As the Bible says money is the root of all evil.

There is more to the story. My ex is the last descendant of Captain Foster. There are roads and streets named after him. Even the one they live on. The family acknowledges the bet that brought them here but there is more to the story than anyone else knows. Keep digging, but her family is very nice and adherent to what transpired in the past. They are not to blame...

Yes that's why they are classified as a separate ethnic group. America started in the east coast with 13 colonies and expanded slowly westward. American Blacks consist of ALL black people living in America before 1865, including black Mexicans of California, as well as Haitian blacks who moved to Louisiana with their French masters in 1801 during Haitian revolution years..All Blacks became American citizens at once in 1868.
