Saucony's first entry into the carbon-plated shoe wars almost got lost amid the race cancellations, derailed training and everyday adjustments of 2020. Luckily the release happened, and it's become one of our favorite alternatives to the Nike Vaporfly. Runner-in-Chief Jeff Dengate gives a rundown of the complete Saucony Endorphin collection.

Ha men....! :) I was so interested and it could have been a stunning vlog. Just as a suggestion, ... if you plan on doing more of these videos (which would be great!) ...could you please give the camera pans more time? A little more zoom on the "cut" and on the differences of the shoes, a little slower movement to see the details. For me it was all a bit too fast / hectic in the clip. I would have liked to see the curve of the respective nylon or carbon plate or would be interested in how differently the foam bounces, and how it looks when you compress it. In short: Great Idea! But may be some potential for improvement in filming these videos :) Overall: thank you for making this and keep on running :)

Been using the shift for a 12 hour ultra and it works well. Love all the endorphin series...great look and comfort!

I have the Speed and the Speed 2, and both are fantastic. I plan on wearing one of them for a Half Marathon in December...will be going for a PB.

I wish v2 of the Speed were a bit wider under the arch for more stability and an upper that doesn’t stretch out so much with use. And a touch more rubber on the heel for grip.

Nice video thank you. It was sad to see the Pro cut in half, but it was nice to see inside. I have the pro and the speed, I think like you mentioned they are up there with Nike. I still think the vapordly is a bit faster, but the speed is really versatile. Now the question is will they be able to make it better? Nike release the next %2 solving the few little issues with the upper. Do you think have a 40 mm outsole can damage our way of running?

Nice to learn Saucony has these out there given my feet being wider up front, most other shoes are too tight on me. Now when I get done with my Vaporflys I know what to get myself

Saucony for the win. My feet are also a bit wider and Kinvara and Fastwitch have been my go to shoes since v4 and v6 respectively. I own a pair of Endorphin, but have yet to use them.

@@JAHinHK I raced in the Kinvara's until the Vaporflys came out. I've trained in the Ride but moved to the Guide bc I found it to be better, although I'm looking for something else for lighter days... I was sold HOKA Clifton's but like most shoes, too tight on the front so I'd like the equivalent in the Saucony

@@davedicerbo1382 Yeah, I've never gone wrong with a Saucony. All models have been true to size for me and fit my wider feet w/o issue. This was paramount for me as I purchased these things online year in and year out owing to bring in Hong Kong. Not having to stress whether I spent cash on a shoe that might not fit was a lifesaver. I've also been a big fan of their price point. Last year's model of any Saucony style have run between $50 and $75 for me. What's not to like about this brand? It's a travesty their enrire advertising budget is probably 1/1000000000000 of Nike's.

@@JAHinHK there was one model of the Guide that was garbage but the next model went back. I think it was the Guide 10s but I'm not sure

I wear the speed on my tempo days and it works really well! I’ll occasionally feel a strain along the bottom tendon of my foot when I’m doing a lot of hills but I don’t know if that’s the shoe

I wear Speed for tempo and track workouts and Pro for racing! First time I wore them I had almost 10 min PR in marathon, I know wasn’t all the shoe Bc my training also had be in that range. My question to you, how many miles recommend on these shoes?

I've trained in these shoes too! (The Speed) As you probably/might already know, the way that shoes wear and tear depends on the person and can be impacted by things such as form and type of training. As a distance, and some mid-distance, runner, I've gotten about 500 miles out of both pairs of Endorphin Speed 2s that I have had, (They start to truly wear out after about 480-90). In comparison to other shoes, my brooks wore after about 450 or so and my Saucony PWRRUN shoes lasted maybe 350-400 before the tread was gone. (but those were nicer for slower easy days.) Training surfaces can also impact how quickly shoes wear down, once I lived where there weren't as many dirt roads and grass and more asphalt and pavement, my shoes wore down a bit quicker, so that might also be a good thing to keep in mind as well! Hope that helps :)

It really bothers me that they do this to these crazy expensive shoes. Do you really need to destroy them? What insight are we actually gaining by cutting them in half?

More viewers, ads, equals to more money. Anyway this channel is giving quite a lot of knowledge for us runners, so not bad at all.
