I loved American girl growing up. I even had my 11th birthday at the american girl place. I had only two american girl dolls since my family didnt have much money. Later on, i gave both my american girl dolls, all their clothes clothes, and all their accessories to the exceptional children's foundation to go to homeless and lower class children in the los angeles area. Yes, they were expensive but those kids deserved them more than i do.

I remember when I was like these girls, I’m 16 now but a part of me still loves American girl dolls. I can’t wait to one day when I have a child and I go back to the American girl doll store to buy them dolls and stuff

when I went to thea g store for my b day I did this messy braid on my doll and one of the hairstylists saw it and did a French braid in her hair for free. The people who work there are very nice

I want to collect American Girl dolls so bad. For now, I only want five: Courtney, Addy, Kit, Maryellen, and Samantha. See, I never had an American Girl doll when I was little, and I remember I really wanted Molly. I was so disappointed when I found out I couldn’t have her because my parents couldn’t afford it (we’re middle class, but only if we save up on money), and this is finally something I get to be excited about, something I can look forward to. I’m 22 now, and I know that’s a little too old to be collecting dolls and everything, but I really really want them really really badly, and I’d be so disappointed if I never got them. So yeah. I’ll make an update and post a video when I get them. It’ll be awesome. I can’t wait to brush their hair and play with them like a little kid. I’m going to have so much fun! UPDATE: I have eleven dolls now. A bunch of Truly Me, some historical, (I even have Addy!) and I plan on getting some CYO. I don’t have any redhead dolls, so I plan on getting some of those. I can’t wait! I’m so excited! I just have to find the kind of money! (And the time to pay for the dolls, because I’m paying for other things right now as well).

Im 11 and a half, and I still have 5 american girl dolls and my collection is still growing. If you look up the AG community you would find that most AG tubers are upwards of 10 years to 20 plus years. Now there are so many things you can do with them, including the less little kid side of dolls, like stop motions, room designs, photo shoots, and many other things, that older girls can really enjoy these dolls. Im not saying that yonger girls dont enjoy these things but these dolls can bring high levels of joy to all ages of girls, young and old. -Lily

From ages of 6- 10, I went to the American Girl Place every black friday and it was such a fun place to go to and didnt shove bad body image onto young girls. My younger cousin has me and my sisters dolls and love them.

I'm 27 now. My sister and I grew up on American girl with Molly and Samantha. We still have Samantha though. I got Molly on my 8th birthday. We live near the city and my mom took me to the American Girl store for my birthday the following year. We were in there for a very long time and I never wanted to leave, but it's a great memory. When I was a teenager, I thought I was too old to keep it. Instead of selling like most people did, I donated mine to charity. Looking back, I think I made a little girl happy because there are parents who can't afford an American Girl unlike mine, and their daughters see other girls like me with the advantage to buy a lot of merchandise for an expensive doll. I felt like I did the right thing.

I’m so mad that i only knew about American dolls in my teens years🤦🏾‍♀️ I wish I knew about them when I was still so into dolls, so I could get one🤣

i remember wanting to get all the historical dolls and one look-alike doll when i was younger. i ended up getting 6 historicals, one look-alike, three horses, and a shit-ton of doll clothes. i sold them later on, but i kept the look-alike so that i can either pass it on to my daughter if i actually have one, my brother's daughter if he ends up having one, or one of my cousins in the future.

I love how they report this like it's an obession and we need to be mindful because of the children's addictions.

It truly is an obsession- i had 8 dolls and tons of accessories and went to the American girl doll stores in Chicago, Minnesota, New York, and Atlanta eating at all their restaurants. Almost every weekend I would make my dad drive me 30 mins to downtown Chicago to go to the store. Now I’ve given my most rare doll away to a little girl who had lost her father for Christmas. I have over 1,000s of dollars worth of American girl items and I just csnt way to sell them because they’re in great shape and most of them they don’t sell anymore. Hahahahha the only upside.

My dad recorded the Dixie Chicks’ first album ( way before they were country ) and the band bought me a Samantha doll. She was my absolute favorite toy in the world but got lost in a move. I was devastated. I never got another one.

They are wonderful, simply wonderful dolls! I say it as a dolls collector, not as a young girl. It is true that they are very expensive, but are worth of all the money which cost. It is a real pity that they are not officially imported in Europe: find one of them was not easy, but now I am proud to have a A.G. doll, which I keep as a treasure, in my collection; it is really something special: a other world than the other dolls I own 😍.
