I recently went on a journey to explore counterfeit and fake products in Nepal. What started as a simple curiosity led me into uncovering a world full of such products in Nepal, from Club Cola(impersonating Coca Cola) to multi million trademark law suit. Even strange was the fact that reputed industrialist and business houses were always easily copying other famous trademarks and with weak law and even weaker enforcement, this problem is bound to challenge Nepal in upcoming days.

Redbull original one is being relaunched in Nepal soon . The parent company of redbull has set up factory in chitwan with joint collaboration with khetan group and will soon will be available. With this ,redbull can be sold easily as it is manufactured in Nepal . So it will be good if you edit the information regarding redbull being still imposed in Nepal

Thank you so much for highlighting and making a video on this issue. Most people are still not unaware of Intellectual property rights (industrial rights- trademark). We are still unaware of what counterfeit or fake products could do to our lives as there have been no research studies done in the context of Nepal. I especially feel so sad for the people of rural areas of Nepal where most of them are still not acquainted with any idea on these matters.

Bro, one thing you missed is the drug counterfeiting. It has gone rampant nowadays, the same paracetamol worked few years ago, now it doesnot work. I have been trying to write a review paper on this. The counterfeiting in medicine is going to be really costly in coming days.

I think it's more likely because manufacturing each strip costs 0.16 paisa higher than what they have to sell it for 😅 I remember running across an article where it said the PTR landing rate for Pharmacies is Rs.8.62 per strip, but at one point during last dengue season, paracetamol was costing 8.78 to Manufacture and sell to pharmacies. I was honestly not surprised. What could you even get with Rs 10 aajkal, specially inside a country that neither makes its own ingredients nor makes it's own packaging, or even manufactures it's own machines or mfg plant? Certainly not good ingredients Even Government's own manufacturing plant did not manufacture enough paracetamol at that time and used their plant to manufacture other drugs during the greatest hour of crisis. It's because they feared of getting bankrupt by working in the negative too long. And all of the blame for paracetamol shortages was shifted to the private sector😅. A working paracetamol, Calpol costs INRs. 15.17 in India. What do you expect to get here at less than half the cost and no economy of scale, with fixed MRP of several decades ago? 🤣

..//2//.. to add to this, what I'm trying to say is perhaps its not counterfeting but intead it is more likely to be adulteration. I see no incentive for counterfeits in bankrupting themselves 😂 (I say this because you choose the poor example of Paracetamol in your comment 😂). As he said on 2:46 kunai pani company ley afno brand establish garna ekdum substantial amount invest gareko hunchha. I think they are just hanging on with that sentiment. Imagine this scenario: What happens if you fix the top line (Selling MRP) and constantly the market creates pressure that raises fhe bottom line (Costs and Overhead)? Simple, you either stop manufacturing or you grit your teeth and manufacture just for the sake of manufacturing - no quality products will be coming out of that plant for sure. Except l, get this, manufacturers can't even outright refuse to manufacture Paracetamol because they risk losing their licence if they don't meet a quota. So, they do make Paracetamol until their quota, and with the same ingredients, they make mixed composition like Ibuprofen+Paracetamol tablets later on, which is not Rate controlled. How can I be so sure? They ways of the market affects all. The consumer pressure has forced Sujal's chocofun to stay at Rs 5 and look at what a sorry condition it is right now! Have you eaten one anytime recently? It likerally feels like flavored cardboard - not the magic of my childhood as I remember.

You should made a vedio on horlicks and its competitors using sand particles😢. I recently added horlics in my milk and after I finished drinkinh there remained black hard sand particle at the glass bottom. This happened everytime with clean glasses and milk

8:14 rather than the alcohol being "poisonous" its probably the unadvertised abv or something else, being alcohol poisoning its probably the high abv and drinking in rapid succesion

Once, there was a Starbucks ripoff in Babarmahal, jun shayad aba banda bhaisakyo. But at that time…so-called foodie celebrities and TikTok influencers were endorsing it, and we, as consumers, were drawn into that trend... 🤣😂I still remember it well. Who should be held accountable? Consumer awareness in our country is not as prevalent as it is in other nations. Even the law enforcement agencies in our country appear to be either weak in protecting consumer rights or possibly involved with companies that openly sell counterfeit products here in Nepal.

Last year, I ate banana, after some hours, my stomach starts burning with pain. My parents got worried about it, and I am admitted to hospital. Later, the doctor said its because of food poisoning😢. Nowadays, I did not eat random street foods. Fruits and vegetables are beneficial for health, but poison are killing us😢

Yep I visited my village a week ago and my mom bought a "potato cracker" thinking it was by cg but it was a fake product with every details same as product of cg potato cracker and the quality of the chip were low quality . I really like that you brought this topic keep going❤

This is a total failure on the part of the local district CDO and city mayor. They must take care of their local market and decide what is allowed to be sold or not. Every product must go through the food control authority for checks.

I met the marketing person responsible for the marketing club cola once in the macchapokhari/gongobu area's hotel when i was going to meet my friends father and i told him that the tatste is not so good. He then replied we are far more better than Coca-Cola. People have been drinking coca-cola for so long so they are addicted to the taste give us 1 2 years and people will love us so much we will go down the coke market. I had a lot to say but he was my friend's father's villagers or something and i had gone there for the 1st time so i couldn't say anything. At the end he told us "have you tried Jeeru?" When we said no he gave us that and our talk briefly ended.

Another point is pollution, fake products of low quality leads to a cycle of buying them over and over again. Consumers dont have a choice (e.g. umbrella).

But I don't get it. How is Coca cola, KFC and Red Bull good for health. Brand ko Naam ma sab lutne ta honi company harule. Low quality product ta nakhanu thikai ho Tara brand ko Naam ma lutna pani Banda hunu parcha. Please avoid junk food and almost all branded fast food and products.
