Family Welcomes Its First Baby Girl in 138 Years

Жыл бұрынDuring a recent gender reveal party, Carolyn and Andrew Clark were excited to learn they would be having a baby girl - the first in Andrew’s family in 138 years. Andrew is one of three boys, as is his father. His grandfather is one of four boys, and so on, back to the year 1885. “We were very shocked,” the Clarks tell Inside Edition. Their baby girl was born this year on St. Patrick’s Day, joining her big brother.

My grandmother works in a nursing home, and a few years back, I brought her lunch. While doing so, I met this sweet elderly man she was tending to. While in his room, I saw a portrait of his entire family, and next to it, I saw an even bigger picture of a sweet little baby girl. I commented that he clearly doesn't have a favorite. He chuckled and said, "Well, it's kind of hard when your family hasn't seen a baby girl in over 100 yrs." I looked back at the other picture, and sure enough, zero little girls, all little boys.

That’s how my grandparents were with me. I’m still the only girl in over 150 years. I’m actually the only girl recorded born into my family because we traced my paternal line all the way back to Italy up to the point Italy became a nation then my family became untraceable.

In 1981 my mother was born in a small village in india. And apparently she was the first girl to be born in the family after decades. It was such a big news the whole village celebrated.

@@shezheypronounsListen, I’m fine with this lgbtq+ and pronoun stuff, but this gender topic surrounding kids is not ok. You should never bring up a child non-binary.. it’s gonna make them 100% more confused and they’re gonna have no idea what to do with their identity. If female is the gender your baby is given at birth, you keep it that way until the child herself is old enough to know what the concept of gender is, and is only enough to decide whether or not she’s comfortable in that gender. This is common sense.

My dad will never stop telling me that he screamed “IT’S A GIRL!!” the day I was born, allegedly so loud people 3 stories below could hear lol. I’m the youngest & only girl. Girls definitely run in my extended family but it’s still a special moment for family unit 💖

When my sister got pregnant with my nephew, I was expecting a little girl, I went out and bought over $130 of girl stuff and when the ultrasound came back. She told me it was a boy, I was in extreme shock because there hasn’t been a boy in my family in 58 years. I had to return everything and get baby boy things. My family were all so excited that we finally got our boy because we have been waiting for a boy in forever. My nephew is always saying he’s special, we consider him the miracle child because he’s a miracle that we finally got our boy.

My sister and I were the first girl born to the family in a very long time as well. I always hear about the story of the birth of my youngest uncle, and how grandpa (who had total of 11 sons) was so upset, he just left the room and gone home 😂 unfortunately he didn't live to see us.

Same in my family. I got so much hand-me-down keepsakes and jewelry from all the women who married into the family since it took so long for a girl to be born. I feel fairly guilty that I'm definitely not the type to wear or care properly for jewelry. I'll keep it to pass onto the next girl, but for now It feels like expensive clutter

@@nyreggie That won't bother you if you trade with a professional like *Mr Gary Mason Brooks* my consultant. I found him on a CNBC interview where he was featured and reached out to him afterwards. He has since provide entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. I basically follow his trade pattern and haven’t regretted doing so.

Random and I know no one cares...but this story made me think of a story my mom told me about from when I was born 1990 when ultra sounds were around but still not quite as advanced as current day ultrasounds. And the hospital I was born at was in a pretty small town. Throughout her visits to her doctor appointments all of her pregnancy she was told I was a boy up until the day before I was born. When I came out my mom said everyone was surprised to see I was a girl. Then one of the nurses who cleaned me up told my mother I was the first girl to be born in that hospital all year. (I was born in Aug so that was 8 months and no girls born in that hospital till me that year) she said the pediatric department was over the moon about it and fussed over me being the only baby girl so far that year. 😂

That's great especially when you consider that neither Andrew nor Carolyn look a day over 120, do they? I never thought that fertility lasted that long. Maybe both of them have had lots of stamina and a huge supply of Viagra over the decades, haven't they? Joking apart many congratulations to them and their family. I remember this story on reddit where same scene happened but the only issue was family accused wife for cheating and even husband left and treat his own daughters badly and once it was proven she got divorce with him. This family shows how to be better family in every way God bless them.
