In 2022, as a terrifying invasion unfolded, the parents watched in horror on their security camera's app. In 2016, an 11-year-old girl who was home alone had the smarts to call 911 when a group of men broke into her house. In 2017, a young nanny was a hero after whisking a little boy to safety when a burglar broke into his home. Inside Edition Digital's Andrea Swindall has more.

it usually is, actually! any violent crime committed in front of or around children tends to get you a couple extra charges for endangering the welfare of a child (with additional embellishments for whatever weapons may have been involved)

@@Nellzurkat The SD series doesn't have a manual safety (i.e. a safety button or switch) instead it has a split in the trigger between the top and bottom halves. The trigger needs only to be fully depressed to fire. This is referred to as a "visible" safety.

You can get a gun once you’re 18 in this country. Hell, even our representatives and governors allow their young children to hold guns or gift guns for Christmas. ANYONE could own a gun, guns even in a major shopping/grocery supercenter. A LOT of old people have guns, especially if they’re white. It’s a shame how much the US loves guns

Had a friend survive a home invasion as a kid. She was 10 I think. Well, some “friends”of her older brother broke in, thinking the home was empty, because the cars were gone. Well, she was home by herself, watching TV on the couch in the living room, where they broke in through the basement. She started crying when they came upstairs, cuz she was suddenly confronted by 3 dudes in masks, holding weapons. The guys felt really bad, and tried calming her down, and reassured her that they wouldn’t hurt her, but they made her walk into a closet and shut the door behind her with a broom or chair or something, so she couldn’t get out. I think they even gave her a snack first. They stole some stuff, and then told her they were leaving. Her mom came home to find her sitting in the closet. The men were caught very quickly.
