Most people want nothing to do with rats. But Kenny Bollwerk, from New York City, goes looking for them. The 36-year-old began documenting areas of the city with rat problems, and the videos blew up on social media. This turned into him offering tours so visitors could see the rodents in person. The $50-an-hour tours are now a hit. He shared his story with Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall.

Giant rats lived under the neighborhood apt complex in SE WDC where we kids grew up. Scary. Today at 76, even pet rats give me pause, though nearly bought a plump sweet chocolate rat to save it from becoming possible snake food. Living in a forested mountain area now, I've befriended the local deer mice, chipmunks, red squirrels, etc. In awe of the bears & other wildlife.

When i was a kid, i thought the USA was a glamorous place. Then youtube came out, and I started seeing the reality. Trash bags and litter everywhere, drug addicts shooting up and zombified in the streets, homelessness, and tent villages. Sidewalks and roads cracked and deteriorated. Not just New York, either. Not quite the glamour that american movies and TV presents.

Really just depends where you go in the USA. NYC was not that bad when I took a trip last year. Didn’t see no rat since I didn’t wonder at night lol I think they have to figure out a new trash system tho, most restaurants leave their trash on the sidewalks assuming to be picked up the next morning?

Bruh, I saw a rat running through some sort of food event in Times Square on my birthday in July 2023 when we were heading to a store. 😂 As someone who's been going to New York Comic Con for almost 20 years and getting their "Pizza Rats" merch, I'm disappointed that I didn't see one scampering off with something. 🐀

i’ve seen one rat in toronto outside the orchestra hall and it was so big. Literally almost a foot long. it was filled with sand on a street bench and the stomach burst letting sand spill out

Nope! I got mice in my place but my cat takes care of them. There is rat poop in my basement though. I don't need to go to New York City to see any rodents I got plenty of them. It doesn't help with my neighbor lady upstairs throws food out the window out the back.
