I knew a girl who dated a guy who had cancer. She stuck by his side through months of chemotherapy. He eventually died. After his death she found out he cheated with multiple women and he had HIV for years and never told her. She later got tested and she was positive. I wish people would be honest.

My boyfriend passed away, I broke down and was taken to hospital because of grief, a week later found out he had been cheating, I snapped out of the depression that same day, and never looked back. God knows if I hadn’t found out where I would be now, 2 years later and I’m fine, don’t care about closure or anything, he would have lied.

All his friends knew about her which was a double whammy because I was close to them. They told me they talked to him all the time about ending it with her. Honestly, finding out was the best thing that happened for me because I would have mourned him for years. Looking back, there were signs of infidelity but he was such a manipulator that he'd make me think I was overreacting. Always trust and believe your intuition.

We were only married 1.5 years. Shortly after his death I was cleaning things out and came across info that confirmed he had been having an affair/fling - whatever. And...not exactly a friend, but someone I was in school with. Someone who had offered condolences. I sat next to her every day!! In that instant, all the shock/horror at his early/sudden death left me but I was consumed with shock/horror at what he had done to me. I never shed another tear, never visited his grave again. Nothing. He was truly dead to me and still is. Fifty years later I've never remarried and I've been happy ever since. I wish you happiness in your future.

Part two of my comment - he as a drug and s*x addict and tried to molest our daughter and would poison me by putting drugs in my coffee. He died of a drug over dose. That 1.5 yrs taught me a lifetime of wisdom about making relationship choices. I was only 21 at the time but that pain is with me for life.

Here's some advice from a 75 year old woman. That almost husband is the guilty one. It's all on him and you have nothing, no reason to feel, bad, guilty, sad etc. I lost everything loving a loser who stole from me etc. Honestly, hold your head up and go for it. Don't think about getting married again, just take each step forward. That man was lacking inside or he never would have cheated. It was all lack in him and no lack in you!

My youngest brother Vincent died at age 36 from atherosclerotic heart disease and his only symptoms were heartburn and acid indigestion type problems and he suffered that for about two weeks until he finally died and it was horrible. It’s impossible to see the light or any type of end when you’re in the depths of despair, and the well intentioned “things will get better” lines of encouragement often mean nothing. But pushing through one more day at a time feels possible.

honestly I find it annoying when I hear her narrating this story. I am not sure whether its her accent, her demeanour, her voice....or the fact that I think she is lying.

She knew. (she even says it. "it's not that I didn't believer her, I knew") There is no way someone is having that many affairs and her intuition doesn't go off. She was in denial and wanted to live her "dream". Your intuition is always right ladies, don't wait for undeniable evidence or an admission.

My boyfriend of four years died the day after he told he wanted to be “engaged” only to find out he was sleeping with at least three other woman he met throughout his career and had a whole other 7 year relationship. Not to mention sending love letters to his old college girlfriend and a girl who appeared to have just graduated high school who he nicknamed “super wife”. I don’t feel guilty for moving on .. took me about 6 months to be honest but I got there. but I will never date for potential again and will rather fling myself down a flight of stairs before I convince myself that the red flags where all in my head and I can’t build up anyone.
