These People Tracked Down Stolen Things

These people bravely tracked down things stolen from them. In 2019, Danielle Reno's SUV and wallet were stolen at a gas station in Missouri. Quick thinking helped her track the thief down. In 2018, a man was able to find his wife’s stolen car with the help of a good samaritan. After a dog-napping in 2022, a woman found her French bulldog, Georgie, with the help of social media. Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall has more.

My mother in law accidentally let my dog out without a leash while we were visiting in Las Vegas. We spent hours searching, posting flyers and even went to the nearby animal shelter, giving them a flyer with his picture and all our contact details. We searched for a few day, close to a week when we got a call from my sister in law. A friend of hers who works at the local animal shelter said my dog was brought in the day before and instead of notifying us the shelter put him in the system and had 2-3 people set up to view and possibly adopt him. We showed up right when they opened demanding our dog and thankfully we got him back. I was so mad at them for trying to sell my dog out from under me like that but apparently they do it all the time.

I felt the same high as the first lady that found her car. I had tools stolen while working at an apartment complex. I knew who the thief was, he had recently bern evicted from the complex. I knew he wouldn't go far from the neighborhood so I drove a search pattern of every street nearby After thirty minutes I found his car, with my tools visible inside! I called the cops. When he walked around the corner with a gas can (he had run out of gas!) and saw the cops and I the look on his face was just priceless!

Stuff like that gets me really worked up. There's actually people who would defend the thief because said person doesn't have this or that. Even I been told by random strangers I don't 'need' a big vehicle a large house simply because other people don't have such things. Everything I have wasn't given to me. I worked for it with my actual blood. I grew up in a run down trailer with lice and roaches and holes in the flooring, we didn't have a flooring to through the hallway and had to walk over a bridge we made to get to the backroom. Now I'm being told by people I don't need those things simply because other people don't have them. They need to start working for a change.

Getting your ID replaced when it's stolen in another state before you get it switched is a hell all of it's own (couldn't imagine being in another country & having everything stolen)...and also identity thieves really mess up lives- it's not just simply replacing everything or telling a credit card company you didn't make the charges.... They deserve much harsher punishment than the slap on the wrist that they get.

AND when ppl realized she stole my dog bc I was hysterically crying- they said she attacked me first. Ppl don’t get that dogs mean everything to ppl. She was given to me to cope with my 9/11 trauma & was my first puppy. My hubs had to pull me off bc I think I would’ve killed her. I hate thieves.
