Thanks for watching. This mower was being used when all of a sudden the drive system failed. Luckily, the fix wasn't that hard to do.

I’ve been using my dads since he gave it too me. He’s been using it since 1977. I’m waiting for the thing to finally blow up so I can rebuild it but with those mowers they just last forever. I even have a couple brand new ones (dura force models) still in the box sitting in my basement. I probably won’t have to dig one out until 2070 lol

I love these two cycle mowers. I always try to save them if possible because no more will ever be made, at least not in the U.S.

Good video.. I now repair my cables.. with some cable crimps and a dog leg .. total cost is around£3or$4. Hope all is good mate

Always fix! I would also check for grass buildup around the transmission, belt, and pulleys.

Those old real Lawn Boy were good mowers. We had a couple of them we used for years. Sure that mower was well worth putting a cable on it.

I have inclines & slopes to mow so yes I would fix it. Those are good mowers!

Gotta love the 2 stroke engines they are durable reliable and put out great power and you can’t get better than a lawn boy they are extremely reliable and they last for years

Can't beat an old lawn boy and I'd fix it if it could be fixed. I'm really a Snapper freak but the 2-cycles are good and steady too. Blessings!

@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE Me too. Briggs made a 6-horse I/C 2-stroke years ago. They were plumb intense! Used on Snapper baggers every day, ALL day. They just ran!

Yes i would only because you do such a great job working on mowers. I like to see all equipment returned to it's intended use if possible - repurposed if not. Another great video my friend.

Nice to see the self propelled is now working, before you work on a piece of equipment, do you try to find out the history of the brand on the internet, see if its a reputable company or not,. I would try to gather as much information, not just from the owner, but try to get a understanding. Of the brand.

As long as it’s not the gearbox or something major I’d fix the self prop. I had a Tecumseh powered LawnBoy in here a couple of years ago that needed the entire gearbox, I removed all of the drive components and gave it to my friends father who was looking for a lightweight push mower (he’s still very happy with it).

It depends on your landscape. Obviously a mower is going to be more difficult to push on a hill.

Nice video. Glad to see some more videos on that 10323 lol. I had to replace the self propelled cable on mine once just back in August or September, but yeah it’s been working fine now ever since.

Agreed, but it usually all comes down to cost. If it’s too expensive but easy to push. Just leave it but if you can fix it and it’s not a bad price. Go for it

I had a 2 stroke one of those once. It set its self on fire while i was using it. I left it on the curb with a half melted motor. No one grabbed it it sat there for like a month lol

IMHO the LB 10323 is the best mower ever for use with a bag. its my favorite mower when the leaves fall. the bagger to get is the rear bag. the side bagger does not have the same volume the rear bag does.
