Sam Witwer (Being Human, Star Wars) joins us this week and we get deep. He opens up about reassessing his life and how people’s impression of him being a screw up molded his self image for years.
Sam talks about how this industry encourages people to hide vulnerability and put up a front; and how some of the false fame that can come as a side effect of this can be harmful to your mental health.

I was able to speak with Sam Witwer at Star Wars celebration. He was late to his autograph signing because he had another show that went over its timeslot. Because of this he went above and beyond to spend extra time with people! There was probably 200 of us in line and he spent what seemed like five minutes with everyone instead of just a 30 second hello and autograph! Love this guy in the Star Wars universe!

Star Wars is dead, and Di$ney and their far left woke agenda have killed the franchise. Stick to the original movies and all the Expanded Universe media released before Di$ney took over in 2012.

Sam is the coolest. I got a cameo for my mother by him. And he went for about 4-5 mins. She was a huge being Human fan. He proceeded to just show off memorabilia of the show and tell behind the scenes stories. She LOVED it and had the biggest smile on her face. Really made her feel special.

What I love about this episode: This wasn't Rosey reading off some notes, this was a conversation. I really felt like I was chilling in the room listening to two new found friends who are talking like this is the only two hours they get to compare notes, and praise each other's work. Sam has to come to Talkville some time.

The original was so good. My issue with the remake was it was a word for word copy of the original(at least the first few episodes cause thats all i watched), which made it a bit pointless for me. I wish they'd gone more like Shamless and set up the world and then made it their own and came up with orrignial scripts.

Sam Witwer is a guest I always wanted to be on this show and he did not disappoint. I love how this show not only has great stories but also helps us recognize certain issues and behaviors that we may not realize we have in our lives or difficult times all kinds of people are going through....I am so very grateful for this show and we love you guys.

Another amazing episode. I had no idea Mr. Witwer was so amazing at voice acting, but he is one of the best I've ever heard. I relistened to those parts with my eyes closed and it's chilling how accurate he really is. Like Ryan, I got messed up at the end and my mind said, "Always hold on to Smallville", so it's not just you Ryan...LOL

@@russellward4624 I've watched both the original and the north american version and the original's first 1 or 2 seasons is better, but as an overall complete story from beginning to end, the Sam Witwer version is FAR superior. It was one whole story that didn't dip in quality, while the original went from a high to a loooooowwww.

Probably my only gripe with Michael's pods. He seems a little too strict on time. Feels like he cuts off guests when they're on a roll. Even cuts off Tom Welling quite a bit in Talkville.

This was a really great interview. I enjoyed Sam talking about rewriting the mental script he had about himself. As a creative person, even if not an actor, it's easy to fall victim to that. He seemed really relaxed and like a cool dude who'd be chill to hang out with. I"m glad he seems to be in a happy place.

I just finished listening to this episode. Sam is such a talented voice artist. His Harrison Ford was my favorite. He definitely has worked hard to get were he was at in his career. This was a really impactful episode for me. I also grew up in Indiana as a creative kid that people didn't know how to handle. Always doing voices, making music, and trying to entertain people. There was one choir teacher who understood my chaos, and would let me come to her class and play piano or bring my guitar. I wasn't even in her class, but she saw the creative spark and helped fan it. I'm in my early 30s now and I connect with both of your thoughts of feeling like a fuck up. Hoping to one day find my footing. Thanks for a fantastic episode!

Sam Witwer is just amazing at everything he does. He was originally General Zod in the season 8 finale when he comes out of the cube making an uncredited appearance but was only contracted for one season for one character which was Davis Bloome.

Zod was played by Callum Blue, not Sam once Zod's run was over. Wither was already casted as Bloom/ Doomsday by that point. The nude scene as a stand in for Zod but he was always supposed to play DD/Davis Bloome went uncredited from Smallville trivia IIRC.

Witwer is brilliant. He was great as Davis Bloome. Great actor and voice actor. Fun, captivating dude all around. No surprise his career listings are so varied and fun. They say it's all about who you know but unless you got the talent and the confidence to shine and be yourself when it counts, you won't get entrance to the doors you want to when it comes to the connections you make. This was a fun listen and watch.

Sam Witwers return with Solo: A Star Wars story with voicing Darth Maul with Ray Park showing up once again was incredible. Another time we got to see Ray Park return was for the final season when he provided performance capture for the battle with Ahoska in the final season of Clone Wars and Witwer voicing just elevated the performance even better.

I got to meet Sam at a convention in 2013, and he was very easy to talk to. We spoke mainly about his time on Smallville, but he also mentioned Star Wars a little bit.

Man, I bet Sam has one kickass toy collection. Now that'd make for an awesome social media vid. Always cool listening to him talk Star Wars as well as lend his voice to it. This made for such great post root canal get your mind off the twinging pain listening.

His Palpatine voice and Harrison Ford were spot on. His VA ability is amazing. No wonder he’s been in so much voice over work. Loved him in being human.

Sam has the same quality Mark Hamill does, where i can listen to his stories and voices for hours. Thank you for finally having him on the show. Would love to see him again, maybe talking about Frank Darabont projects and their experience with a tv studio that's not so great.

Just 14 minutes in and I love this. The behind the scenes perspective of "Being Human" is interesting. It's the first time I noticed Sam Witwer. He's got a fun body of work and his voice acting is wonderful. Thanks for having a conversation with him! It'd be neat to see interviews with other cast of BH like Sam H, Meaghan or Kristen.

Sam Witwer shaped so many things I still love that could of easily ended up being bit parts or forgettable. That's the true mark of an incredible actor is making those parts your own and making an audience see and hear your unforgettable passion. On top of that, he matches his talent with kindness and brevity. Thank you sir for all you have given us over the years and more to come.
