His characters' foil have an enjoyable intelligence, like the legends of early film. Without the twirling moustache. Agree, wholeheartedly.

He's a proper chameleon. And I love how he still has this boyishly soft speaking voice, but can put on this stentorian bellow as Kingpin. Amazing actor.

Vincent D’Onofrio is one of those rare character actors that is just so skilled at their craft that it gives you chills. Like the perfect guitar solo or opera singer, you can’t help but have an emotional response.

Even worse, he is so good in his acting I for one at least have a hard time realising when he moves from method acting to just simple acting. The broken characters he play are also the best interpretation. From the first time I saw him in Full Metall Jacket, to Eco I was captivated. And even in Law and Orde he made a fine apearence as a "normal" dude. I think we should mention this, his role there is the most mentioning one, because it is the one, that is interpreting the most normal person Vincent playe4d so far as I know. 😁

I met this man last month at FanX in Salt Lake City. Talked for a minute, shook hands and got a picture with him. When we were about to take the picture, asked him if we could do the Goren tilt. He smiled and said 'Sure, how do you want to do it?' I told him and so he tilted toward me, I leaned toward him. I'm not a person who gets star struck. I've met a few famous people and didn't flinch or make any attempt for a picture or autograph. When I got tickets to go to FanX with my daughter, I had no intention of paying for a picture or an autograph of anyone; however, when he last minute decided to show up at FanX, I HAD to. This man has been on my list of top five favorite actors for a LONG time. One of the all-time greats IMO.

You may argue best/not best acting, BUT I give you that, those two defined the 2 roles they have played a lot! At least me, anytime I thin of LL I see Rosenbaum and only him, and when I see WF I can only see D'onofrio. Kind of strange toi see those "Supervillans" having a chat. 🤣

I met him walking in his old neighborhood in manhattan which was very close to the NYPD police academy on 20th. I was in uniform and said “Hey Det. Big fan” or something else goofy and he stopped and couldn’t have been kinder. I told him I was a big fan of the radio show he was hosting at that period of time (also of course his acting) Within a few mins he offered to give me a copy of a Velvet Underground album that he have a couple of copies of. As a cop in manhattan for 25 years I met my share of famous and wildly talented people, no finer than Vincent D. Awesome interview enjoyed every second. He is amazing, top 5 actor of his generation in my opinion.

To this day, Carl Rudolph Stargher remains one of the most pitiful, sympathetic, and terrifying characters I've ever seen, completely because of D'Onofrio's performance. The Cell is one of the best psychological SciFi thrillers out there. One of my top 50 lifetime favorites. I hope one day they finally release a remastered Director's Cut, and add back in all of the good stuff the studio forced put due to fucking "runtime."

There’s a story about how the drama dept reached out to him to discuss his career and he was very gracious and kind and had a nice conversation with him. A lot of shows have been built around really odd eccentric characters. At the end of the day criminal intent lasted many years so Vincent did a great job. Peter Shinkoda, who played Nobu on Daredevil, told a story during a DD cast reunion about working with Vincent. And just telling the story almost brought him to tears. I don't remember the story completely, but there was a day when Peter was suffering a bit of imposter syndrome. He had a question about something that was making it hard for him to continue. He was getting sort of freaked out, and he was in his own head and telling himself he couldn't do this and all of that, and he wasn't getting his concern addressed. Vincent grabbed him by the shoulder and, in full Kingpin costume, marched him over to the director or whoever and very loudly proclaimed that "an actor has a question about his role!" And Peter was like "Vincent just called me an actor! Maybe I do belong here."

Really enjoyed Vincent D'onofrio in Escape Plan and of course Law & Order: Criminal Intent. His character was my favorite part of that show, amazing to hear how tough the working conditions were.

For me, Vincent is the kind of actor that I'll watch whatever he does, because he is in it. He is very good at his parts and you just wanna pay attention to him. Like many of the greats.

Dude's range is out of this world. I watched him in so many different movies.. Truly love his performance as a psycho drug dealer with a fake nose on the film Salton Sea. His cameo as Orson Welles in Ed Wood is also stuff of legends.

You guys talked about the small parts & how people DO remember many of them if done well. Vincent has done many as he said, but for me the one which sticks in my mind is his part in "Thirteenth Floor". A film which not many saw & even today is almost impossible to find on any streaming service. It lives on my memory though. 😉

I think about that show a lot when I'm doing long stretches of driving. I think what if the world as I know it just ends and it really is a game?

You guys mean something to us. 99.9 percent of us will not be in the entertainment industry, but we still love the connection to the industry. Bruce Campbell taking the time to not just sign an autograph but take the time to talk to me and ask what I do and what I like will stay with me forever.

I always couldn't wait for the Thor part to come on in Adventures in Babysitting, he convinced me he was Thor as a kid lol. Crazy how you get older and appreciate what versatility an actor has. Vincent is one of those compelling actors that immerses you in what you are watching. Glad he is still playing Marvel characters all these years later too.

He was an excellent Robert E. Howard and a very good Kingpin, and of course great in his tragic role in Full Metal Jacket.
