@@AleemaBii It just does my head in that people diagnose a person as not being disabled without any medical qualifications when doctors have a hard time understanding the effects of some disabilities. Also the fact that disabilities can vary in intensity day to day and sometimes depending on the disability minute to minute. Meaning that a healthy person can see the disabled person doing things that the healthy person thinks a disabled person shouldn't be able to do. What they don't seem to understand is that a lot of disabled people don't get help with their disabilities therefore things that we need to get done are done when our symptoms are not affecting us as much. Just because they see you do something does not mean that they can do the same level of work 8 hours a day 5 days a week or in any consistent manner. Yes there are people who manipulate the system for their own benefit but a lot of it will be bravado, not wanting to admit that they are disabled. I know I went through a stage after my stroke where I tried to pretend that I was all right which ended up with me back in hospital. I also know that some of my friends family think I am taking the mick because I look normal all because the conservatives have put in their minds that disabled people are work shy and feckless.

They'd be more a drain on the system if made to work because they're behaviour would end them up in mental wards or prison. I get carer's allowance to prevent this, £80 a week for both of them. Even some voluntary work isn't appropriate. Not just for them, but society at large. Is it their fault or mine that they're disabled? My friends know I can't work because of my illness, and they know I must be getting some benefits, and I keep it to sickness payment of ESA.

@littlemissgroove Apply for them. ESA, it taken off your UC, but then you get a supplement that covers most of what they take off. Also, ESA is a taxable benefit.

Something works of fiction like 1984 and V for Vendetta have in common, along with totalitarian regimes like the Nazis, is their disdain for sickness and disabilities, and their eradication of such. When we see similar rhetoric coming from our government, it fills me with dread, amongst other negative thoughts and feelings. Sure it might not be as extreme (yet) but the sentiment is still the same. We are a burden. But it's fine that corporations are allowed to continue with their practices that create many of our disabilities in the first place. After all, money is everything.

I was once sanctioned, after I found a job and had money stopped. There was an 'error' over paperwork cough cough. There was me thinking they, the dwp were meeting targets.

Don't see how sanctions are legal? If you look at reward or upgrade letters you get words along the lines of "The amount the law says you need to live off"

I'm in same boat I loved being at work I worked in the care field sector now I'm lucky if I can do minimal house work ie doing dishes and I'm wiped out constant pain no sleeping a couple of the many hellish things we deal with having fibromyalgia (which i wouldnt wish on my worst enemy) we are the ones who will suffer not those who abuse the system

There are very few people that are so disabled that they can't do any work at all. There seem to be a lot of people that can't do even the slightest thing to pay their way but are perfectly capable when it comes to enjoying social media all day. If you can waffle on Facebook, you can do data entry.

It seems like a ludicrous waste of time and money to keep doing assessments on people who are obviously never going to recover from their disability. If someone, for example, has severe learning difficulties that is never going to go away so why put their families through the stress of repeated reassessment? It would save a fortune and make life so much easier for disabled people if they just used some common sense

@@deniserowley8549 the review form is even worse. You are basically claiming again on a form that is not fit for purpose. Tiny box to put all the information in you need to provide how your conditions affects you.

I found it no different to the ESA assessment. The only thing I found is the PIP assessors were more helpful

It has become very apparent. There are people who vote for labour, becuase they just assume labour will show compassion towards people, because of their shiny image. If people questioned why labour were being so shifty about the sick and disabled, labour's staunch supporters, would just ridicule people who questioned things. Because we should just 'believe' things will be OK, because labour are 'just better'. And there were times where I explained to a staunch labour supporter, what was happening with starmer, reeves and the sickness benefits. And they were genuinely shocked. Becuase they just 'believe' labour wouldn't do things like this. But it was labour who introduced the horrific assessments when they were last in power. And during the last labour government, Blair tried to make massive cuts to sickness and disability, but was stopped by a massive back bench rebellion. Now Blair is calling the shots, starmer does as he's told. And I really doubt there are many ethical labour mps left in the party. Look at the company that lot keep. Ed balls doing a pod cast with George osbourne; the latter a person responsible for the destruction of his own people, via the horrific cuts targeting the sick and disabled. Blair goes to osbournes wedding. At one point there was talk of David Cameron being employed by starmer, as foreign secretary. We never really had a change of government. They've just had a rebrand. They are playing out a theatre, so the well-off can believe things are different. While the masses seethe with angry, as we get gaslit like this.

This is the exact reason I didn't waste my money on this course, I was offered by some companies to do so on the basis I paid them back but I would need to do 75 hours a week and never be from home, fair enough it's a demanding role but when your given the chance to train and work yourself to death or train and pay for it then have no job it's absolutely ridiculous

My youngest was diagnosed adhd aged 21. This was after recognising herself when studying for her psychology degree. She also has some symptoms of autism. She is certain that I have adhd too. I've been told by my local health board that they don't do assessments for adult adhd as only children are affected, despite research to the contrary. Whatever saves them money works for them. Its also convenient to not have adult needs taken into consideration by business. If it can't be diagnosed, it can't be taken into consideration. The whole system is screwed up and needs private finance interests removed altogether.

I am exactly the same with same conditions so I understand how you feel . We literally can’t be relied on to make arrangements as our conditions fluctuate constantly throughout the day . There’s no treatment let alone a cure so I can’t see how we could work. It would be like driving a car with no petrol .

I also have fibromyalgia & nerve damage, if i was fit to look after myself i wouldnt need my daughters to, shower me, dress me on clothing i cant put on, rely on my daughters to cook & take me to hospitals if i was able to do these things myself, i give my job up due to my illness but since i left my ilness is far worse to deal with daily living now, i was very inderpendant until i got my illness noe rely on others to do the things i cant this does annoy me that genuine disabled people is always the targets than the young ones that just to lazy to get out of bed & dont want the work

Would be better, they designed it monthly to insinuate the same payment you would get on a job getting paid monthly. That was the whole idea behind the universal Credit monthly payment but in actual fact it makes people struggle.

I’m a newish amputee using a wheelchair and have other health issues. I can’t even get out of my yard without being pushed. Never mind getting on public transport. I’d need someone after work to get me back down my drive. How would that work? I was retired from work due to my other conditions and after 27 years. Rely on pip for a carer, cleaner How would I manage with vouchers? And a glossy catalogue with nothing in there I need?!

@@debsykes3056 Hi there that was my point of the comment the dwp either don't live in the real world or want to fob you off. i a talking from my own experience of going through this a few years ago now and witnessing friends go through it. after my first report I then decide to look into this as I couldn't believe it. i joined some pip/uc/esa/ facebook groups, researched ont he internet. even came across an article by a doctor & nurse, the nurse was the one applying and even they caught the dwp out as PROPER health professionals. I was in a situation where the nhs and top specialist had an idea what was wrong but my conditions are all invisible and one which I won't mention here is known as the most chronic pain known to man kind with a high 26-28% suicide rate, it comes on in attacks. the work place were finding me unreliable and heres the thing they have the legal right to sack you, should you be off and on to much and if you take shorter periods off work than one lump sum of sickness sin one go, it makes your sickness record look even worse. then the dwp say otherwise, nether one of those 3 could help or want me. But yes even if you don't live alone you may have relatives who have to get to their won place of work and still can't help you. but hey as i've commented on my of this channels dwp pip videos, after listening to the bbc radio series last year called "fit for work" the criteria to qualify was set up by insurance company called uman. NOT a set of proper health professionals.

Exactly a lot of people automatically assume that those who claim benefits are lazy and that it's just free money. People seriously have no clue and no idea because they've never been in that reality. I know a lot of people and I mean a lot of people who work and enjoy their jobs but have to be topped up because the wages are so poor. And unfortunately they don't have the facility to work two or three jobs a week. Some people just live in a random world I'm sure of it 🤣

The reality is that migrants do NOT live in 5star conditions as the hotels are generally overcrowded slums providing one small meal a day, often consisting of rotten ingredients. And the migrants don't get free mansions, Ferraris, or tickets to England matches either.

Zero hours with its short notice of shifts, lower regulations regarding length of shifts and hours between shifts, no compensation for being sent home early as its quieter than anticipated etc. All whilst having to constantly prove hours actually worked and paid to dwp who still get their figures wrong leaving you short of money for rent and food.

They will soon be able to access these remotely. At present if they suspect fraud they can view your bank accounts under Social Security legislation and you won’t know about it . But currently they must show a suspicion of fraud . A lot of fraud cases are uncovered by people contacting fraud hot line and the DWP evaluate these and obviously get lots of cases from these.

It's all based on the illness and how it affects your day to day life! If you think you're dad is entilied to it, then seek some advice from citizens advice & get the help he needs.
