In Insidious: The Red Door, the original cast from the horror franchise is back for the final chapter of the Lambert family's terrifying saga, with Patrick Wilson (also making his directorial debut), Ty Simpkins, Rose Byrne and Andrew Astor. I remember watching the jumpscare in cinemas and expecting it to be similar to the trailer but then it made me jump so high that I almost beat Elon Musk to Mars 😭

The preview is too long, I'm so glad it doesn't spoil the movie like so many previews do. Lately just by watching a trailer, you find out the entire story of the movie, and it's not even worth watching it anymore. This is a 1.5 scene preview, so it doesn't ruin it. I'm a huge fan of the series, cannot wait to watch it, but it's kind of insane how much is asked for the rent Vs purchase - only $4 difference. Renting shouldn't be more than the cinema ticket, only less. Anyway, I'll just downl-KIDING!!! Probaby will check in again in couple of weeks.

Patrick Wilson deserved a better script. The story is still there, but the way it was told was a disaster. The university campus, the disgusting and unbearable art teacher, the "liberal" and "funny" roommate, the broken family, the Patrick's "traumatized" and cry-baby character, the rebel adolescent son... What the heck are these stupid things doing in the movie? It's a franchise. Please, just follow the formula.

I didn't like the university setting, it was really boring. It seemed like the entire movie was in their crappy dorm room. I guess they were trying to save money? All the new actors/characters were also not that good. I think for me the biggest let-down was all the entities were just generic, there wasn't a story behind any of them. This one was probably the one I liked the least. People are saying it is better than 3 and 4 but eh, this one was just boring.
