It was a delight to listen to the direct radio broadcast last night, the transmission quality was excellent, so was the cast and their speech intelligibility, especially the clarity of alliterations made Wagner’s intended fun of them audible. At very few points the orchestra drowned out the singers, but otherwise Maestro Pappano’s request according to which the singing should not melt into the orchestral sound but stand above it was fully implemented. Many thanks to all involved in this production. It was a particularly treasured gift after a day like yesterday❤

Lovely, I'm not sure everyone knows what a Nebbisch is, but I for one appreciated the Yiddish. Look forward to the full cycle in approx 4 years.
