He who talked down his height.

He said he is really 6' 4", but often lies and says he is 6' 3" just to let people feel more comfortable about his height, which doesn't really help much, because you can't change your height.

I don't get why people lie about their height. That won't make them appear shorter/taller. I am tall for a female (5'9) and lying that I'm 5'6, for example, to a 5'6 person would be ridiculous :D

Some people are not observant and don't notice reality much, so once in a while you can say" I am an inch shorter " and they will believe you, especially since 1 inch is not a huge difference and I think Lee wanted to avoid people's reaction so instead of saying 6'4" he would say 6'3", but you are right. People can see your height and one inch is not a big deal. I guess he was trying to make a few people a little bit more comfortable. "some people can't handle the truth". ; )

patphatcat I guess if someone's height can make people nervous, living in this world should be extremely terrifying for them :D

I agree! They should have made Ronin's story more emotional so that the audience could've empathized with his character more like what they did with Loki's character. idk.. I just feel like it was missing something very important.

Charlie Rhea yeah,i agree with you,cause actors tells something about their characters,sometimes very an interesting and important things which can exsplain they acts but in a movie we can't see it bacause director or someone else thinks we want to see more action and less logic of heroes and vilians

Americans have many different accents. He spent his very early childhood in Saudi Arabia and barely remembers living there. His father was an engineer and he and his family moved around a lot. He and his family has mostly a Midwestern, American accent. He spent, at least, his high school years in Texas, but it is really more of a Midwestern, American accent. He was born in the Midwest too. He does like to say "ya'll" instead of "you all", which is a Southeastern and Southwestern word. Probably from living in Texas, U.S.A.

Also, most Americans in television and movies are told to lose their accents if they want acting jobs and if they want to appear on T.V. as news reporters, etc. There are at least 3 accents in New York City. Northern New Jersey, U.S.A., where I grew up, has its own accent, there are a few accents in New England (all states north and east of New York state) , U.S.A. alone. There are southern accents and Northwestern accents. People in entertainment business associate Southern accents with uneducated, unsophisticated people, so Southerners are told to lose the accent and have a plain "American " accent that does not really exist. As you get closer to the Northern border, Americans sound more Canadian, or maybe it is the other way around. I admired American actress Rosie Perez for refusing to lose her New York City accent and she still earned many acting jobs when people told her that no one would hire her because of her accent. More actors/actresses are keeping their own accents today.

@Lola Montez yes, he sounds Midwestern to me, once in a while, more recently, he says something that shows the New York city influence.

He actually originally auditioned for the role of Star Lord. I read on IMDB that he got the role but then the producers changed their mind and he ended up as Ronan. I would've loved to see him as the leading man. His role in The Fall was amazing :)
