This, I think, is saving my faith. As a former Jehovah’s witnesses elder, I finally rejected JW based on their theology. But it has pushed me to an agnostic position. But you really help to have an more intellectual and historic based understanding of this questions in my mind. Thanks man

Amen! I used to have a coworker who was JW and had many good apologetic conversations with him. Because of that, I've done a lot of research about the JW religion and I have empathy for them. I too used to be an agnostic until I discovered the more intellectual traditions of Christian Theology! May God continue to guide you and bless you, brother.

I’ll be saying a prayer that the Holy Spirit will teach you all things as we are told in the Word & that your faith is encouraged. I too was raised in a sect that was doctrinally challenged to put it kindly. Just like you I found myself falling away as I learned much of what I’d been taught was wrong or an outright lie. I fell away but always felt a sort of pull back to the Lord. I got deep into research & am eternally grateful to God that He lead me to truth, & blessed me with salvation & assurance of His love & grace! It is my sincere prayer that He do the same for you! My life has truly been a testament to the fact that we may give up on Him, but He does not give up on us! All we have to do is diligently seek Him, knock & He will answer!

Another act of mercy or blessing by God in this chapter is actually removing Adam and Eve from the garden. Because, in the garden they had access to the tree of life, which made them live forever. God did not want humans to live forever in a fallen state, as that would be terrible for the humans.
@Whisper-md9hs
@Whisper-md9hs 27 күн бұрын
Also given how the series shows both the fall of Lucifer & Man occurred simultaneously, it’s possible that the war in Revelation 12 occurred immediately after Adam & Eve ate from the tree. God may have removed Adam & Eve from the Garden at that moment because He knew that war was about to break out among the angels and he wanted to get Adam & Eve to safety

His videos are very good!!! I have truly been blessed by them. However, no one is inerrant. With that being said, I want to offer a different perspective. He points out the difference between conception and birth, which is fine, but then gives commentary stating that the verse is referring to anxiety fueled by uncertainty in the *Future* conditions and needs of her children. I just don't see this being reality. Normally the only time someone has anxiety at conception, is if they didn't want to get pregnant. But that is certainly not what the scriptures are talkin about. Furthermore, grief or *anxiety in conception* is not the same as *anxiety about your child's future.* The argument could then be made that if that is the band-width of conception anxiety, then that would also include the pains of childbirth. This is why I believe the traditional translation of this passage is more accurate. Pain, sickness, anxiety, grief, and death were not God's original plan. But we know that childbirth brings with it extreme grief in the form of pain and anxiety. When it comes to a woman's desire being for a husband, and him ruling over her, I think this is pointing to a physical out working of a spiritual truth, sort of like homosexuality in Romans 1 is a physical out working of a spiritual truth... Namely, that the parable of man's rebellion towards God's headship and authority will be lived out through the marriage covenant in the form of the woman resenting his authority, and wanting to take the lead or be him altogether... today's popular culture is a perfect example of this. This will cause tension that will result in the man asserting and subsequently abusing his authority over her. Thus, the marriage covenant, along with every other aspect of creation, has been cursed by the Fall. Just another perspective to consider. Be blessed!!!

This was the 1st time I ever heard this channel , for some reason 3B the fall popped into my playlist as I dozed off on Roku one night. Blew me away. This whole Genesis series is awesome, well researched and presented. I just saw a preview for The Nephilim, whoa! I will look at many of your videos in depth. On Job right now as well. I was floundering in life, being hyper critical and over scientific and struggling to balance deaths and visions of close family members on their deathbeds with a few instances I have of people in cath labs who say they were sent back and spoke to God. I have been coming back to thinking that maybe earth isn't a prison planet. (My mom died of breast cancer after a long life of suffering and of being practically a saint and a spark of light in the world, she didn't have a good view of God in the end, she earned that way of thinking personally, through pain and suffering) and Lets just say your research is a bright light when I have needed it most.

The problem is with second guessing antiquity is that you can never know.. only surmise. To then claim that as a fact... Is indeed folly.. Very interesting narrative none the less. Mans interpretation is always limited by their personal understanding. The more you know the less you know. The more you think you understand, the less you actually understand. The more granular you get.. the more gets revealed.. It is a never ending seeking for some. Just when you think you got it sussed.. It all falls apart.. Such is life.

It must be understood that when we are born again there is something actually created a new person. This spiritual connection with God is something that is eternal and cannot be lost in this age by the Christian. He's eternally with God.. when he thinks God thinks ..he hears God in the spirit and responds to God in the spirit by his thoughts. This is in Union with God which is what the in God means. It is in Union with God. The most profound thing that can happen to an individual in this world. It is the guarantee in the substance of eternal life for the one who is born again WHO only desires to do God's will he only desires to hear God's thought. This is the essence of the born-again experience it is real and tangible it is a Return to Eden it is to have God's spirit and power inherent in our physical bodies now. The lessons of Genesis are many and profound.The serpent didn’t lie to Eve, but by withholding the full consequence of their actions he took advantage of their ignorance, pride, and innocence.I think we see that Eve had a childlike understanding of morality by her immediate resistance to take the fruit. I think the “Knowledge” they obtained was by their disobedience they began to understand the consequences of evil immediately resulting in their shame and loss of innocence. Where I think I differ from your interpretation is that I think that they should have died the day they ate from the tree.I think we see a foreshadowing of the Gospel when God sacrifices the innocent animal in the garden, which not only provided coverings for them, but for their sin and allowed for them to escape death that day.To be fair, you haven’t got to that verse yet.I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks and God bless you.

Post-it thanks for clarifying your position although I think we have a different view. Please let me try to clarify my view; Sin and true are both archery terms and in some sense opposites. If the arrow runs true it runs perfectly straight and hits the target. Sin is when it misses and therefore runs bent or off-target. I think that bending the truth is not possible. There is only truth or sin. I also think there is ample evidence that this is the worldview employed in biblical times. Thanks for your thoughts.

However, now looking back on it...yeah my old view did not made sense. For one, knowledge of good and evil is not a bad thing at all. Since God has it as well as his divine council and it just basically means having a wiser discernment between good and evil

Why anyone today puts stock in Jewish anything I don't know as they don't even believe in Jesus, but this channel loves doing that. "You would be eternal if you eat from the tree of life.." That's funny seeing as how Christ says he is the tree of life and that all who partake of him are in him and he is within them. There isn't some magical pomegranate sitting in heaven, it's obviously allegorical in it's description. The father is life and the son is in the father so he has life. If you are in the son then you have life also. To eat the true food you must be like Christ with the holy spirit dwelling in you so that he may grow spiritual fruits in your life and heart. All those who lack fruit will be removed from the vine and cast into the fire. By their fruits you will know them to be my followers and those who call themselves Christ are deceivers if they have not love and compassion. For the Lord showed compassion to son of man and raised him from the dead to lead humanity to himself and by so doing save the world from our self destructive ways.

@Daulton Horton I agree it applies to that as well but sheep in wolves clothing is not a reference for pastors or leaders. It's a direct reference to those who claim to follow Christ "my sheep know my voice and follow me. Those who are not my sheep do not hear my voice." The neat thing about the Bible is that it likes to allude to various issues with one simple command or rebuttal. There's no shame for any Christian not associating with those who do not have the fruits of the spirit. If we cast pearls before swine they will crush us underfoot without hesitation or mercy.

Nexion Nekros St. Ignatius of Antioch "I have no taste for corruptible food nor for the pleasures of this life. I desire the bread of God, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ, who was of the seed of David; and for drink I desire his blood, which is love incorruptible" (Letter to the Romans 7:3 [A.D. 110]). "Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ which has come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God…They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, flesh which suffered for our sins and which that Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes" (Letter to the Smyrnaeans 6:2-7:1 [A.D. 110]). St. Justin Martyr "We call this food Eucharist, and no one else is permitted to partake of it, except one who believes our teaching to be true and who has been washed in the washing which is for the remission of sins and for regeneration [i.e., has received baptism] and is thereby living as Christ enjoined. For not as common bread nor common drink do we receive these; but since Jesus Christ our Savior was made incarnate by the word of God and had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so too, as we have been taught, the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set down by him, and by the change of which our blood and flesh is nurtured, is both the flesh and the blood of that incarnated Jesus" (First Apology 66 [A.D. 151]). St. Irenaeus of Lyon "If the Lord were from other than the Father, how could he rightly take bread, which is of the same creation as our own, and confess it to be his body and affirm that the mixture in the cup is his blood?" (Against Heresies 4:33-32 [A.D. 189]). "He has declared the cup, a part of creation, to be his own blood, from which he causes our blood to flow; and the bread, a part of creation, he has established as his own body, from which he gives increase unto our bodies. When, therefore, the mixed cup [wine and water] and the baked bread receives the Word of God and becomes the Eucharist, the body of Christ, and from these the substance of our flesh is increased and supported, how can they say that the flesh is not capable of receiving the gift of God, which is eternal life-flesh which is nourished by the body and blood of the Lord, and is in fact a member of him?" (ibid., 5:2). Clement of Alexandria "’Eat my flesh,’ [Jesus] says, ‘and drink my blood.’ The Lord supplies us with these intimate nutrients, he delivers over his flesh and pours out his blood, and nothing is lacking for the growth of his children" (The Instructor of Children 1:6:43:3 [A.D. 191]). St. Cyprian of Carthage "He [Paul] threatens, moreover, the stubborn and forward, and denounces them, saying, ‘Whosoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily, is guilty of the body and blood of the Lord’ [1 Cor. 11:27]. All these warnings being scorned and contemned-[lapsed Christians will often take Communion] before their sin is expiated, before confession has been made of their crime, before their conscience has been purged by sacrifice and by the hand of the priest, before the offense of an angry and threatening Lord has been appeased, [and so] violence is done to his body and blood; and they sin now against their Lord more with their hand and mouth than when they denied their Lord" (The Lapsed 15-16 [A.D. 251]). Aphraahat the Persian Sage "After having spoken thus [at the Last Supper], the Lord rose up from the place where he had made the Passover and had given his body as food and his blood as drink, and he went with his disciples to the place where he was to be arrested. But he ate of his own body and drank of his own blood, while he was pondering on the dead. With his own hands the Lord presented his own body to be eaten, and before he was crucified he gave his blood as drink" (Treatises 12:6 [A.D. 340]). St. Cyril of Jerusalem "The bread and the wine of the Eucharist before the holy invocation of the adorable Trinity were simple bread and wine, but the invocation having been made, the bread becomes the body of Christ and the wine the blood of Christ" (Catechetical Lectures 19:7 [A.D. 350]). "Do not, therefore, regard the bread and wine as simply that; for they are, according to the Master’s declaration, the body and blood of Christ. Even though the senses suggest to you the other, let faith make you firm. Do not judge in this matter by taste, but be fully assured by the faith, not doubting that you have been deemed worthy of the body and blood of Christ…[Since you are] fully convinced that the apparent bread is not bread, even though it is sensible to the taste, but the body of Christ, and that the apparent wine is not wine, even though the taste would have it so,…partake of that bread as something spiritual, and put a cheerful face on your soul" (ibid., 22:6, 9). St. Gregory of Nyssa: “Since it has been shown that in no other way was it possible for our body to become immortal, but by participating in incorruption through its fellowship with that immortal Body, it will be necessary to consider how it was possible that that one Body¸ being for ever portioned to so many myriads of the faithful throughout the whole world, enters, through that portion, whole into each individual, and yet remains whole in itself…, which Body also by the indwelling of God the Word was transmuted to the dignity of Godhead. Rightly, then, do we believe that now also the bread which is consecrated by the Word of God is changed into the Body of God the Word. For that Body was once, by implication, bread, but has been consecrated by the inhabitation of the Word that tabernacle in the flesh. Therefore, form the same cause as that by which the bread that was transformed in that Body was changed to a Divine potency, a similar result takes place now. For as in that case, too, the grace of the Word used to make holy the Body, the substance of which came of the bread, and in a manner was itself bread, so also in this case the bread, as says the Apostle, ‘is sanctified by the Word of God and prayer’; not that it advances by the process of eating to the stage of passing into the body of the Word, but it is at once changed into the body by means of the Word, as the Word itself said, ‘This is my Body.’ …By dispensation of His grace, He disseminates Himself in every believer through that flesh¸ whose substance comes from bread and wine, blending Himself with the bodies of believers, to secure that, by this union with the immortal, man, too, may be a sharer in incorruption. He gives these gifts by virtue of the benediction through which He trans-elements the natural quality of these visible things to that immortal thing.” (The Great Catechism, Ch. 17 [A.D. 385]). St. Ambrose of Milan "Perhaps you may be saying, ‘I see something else; how can you assure me that I am receiving the body of Christ?’ It but remains for us to prove it. And how many are the examples we might use!…Christ is in that sacrament, because it is the body of Christ" (The Mysteries 9:50, 58 [A.D. 390]). St. Augustine of Hippo "I promised you [new Christians], who have now been baptized, a sermon in which I would explain the sacrament of the Lord’s Table….That bread which you see on the altar, having been sanctified by the word of God, is the body of Christ. That chalice, or rather, what is in that chalice, having been sanctified by the word of God, is the blood of Christ" (Sermons 227 [A.D. 411]). "What you see is the bread and the chalice; that is what your own eyes report to you. But what your faith obliges you to accept is that the bread is the body of Christ and the chalice is the blood of Christ. This has been said very briefly, which may perhaps be sufficient for faith; yet faith does not desire instruction" (ibid., 272). Council of Ephesus "We will necessarily add this also. Proclaiming the death, according to the flesh, of the only-begotten Son of God, that is Jesus Christ, confessing his resurrection from the dead, and his ascension into heaven, we offer the unbloody sacrifice in the churches, and so go on to the mystical thanksgivings, and are sanctified, having received his holy flesh and the precious blood of Christ the Savior of us all. And not as common flesh do we receive it; God forbid: nor as of a man sanctified and associated with the Word according to the unity of worth, or as having a divine indwelling, but as truly the life-giving and very flesh of the Word himself. For he is the life according to his nature as God, and when he became united to his flesh, he made it also to be life-giving" (Session 1, Letter of Cyril to Nestorius [A.D. 431]).

The "ACKNOWLEDGMENT" about the evil seems to be the SAME "ACKNOWLEDGMENT" between Adam and Eve (Gn 4:1) - a spiritual relationship, not only a physical one. And that's WHY we are called ADULTERS if we put our hopes and faith on others that is NOT The Creator ALONE. We "TOUCH" with eye-sight, by hearing, by seeking, by wanting. The sense of "touch" only by hands is really poor...

My view has always been that God saying not to eat of the tree was not prohibition, but rather a warning. He was saying that knowledge of good and evil makes you responsible for your own actions in a way that animals are not, and that the punishment for doing evil is death. He knew that we are fickle beings unable to be unblemished by evil, and so in the eating of the fruit we "would surely die". The irony is that as soon as Eve ate of the fruit she sins; not because of the bite that she took, but becauss she did so in order to "become like God". The original sin wasnt eating the fruit, it was pride.

Pretty good, and mostly agree with this. Though, I think you may have been ragging on Adam and Eve too hard, as if they had malicious intent. The Serpent made them question the integrity of God (which produces doubt) and made them feel like they lacked something needed for Life (to which you can argue, they did), but the Serpent made them eat from the Tree of Knowledge and do it from a point of self-effort (thinking they have to save themselves) to attain life and satisfy the lack that the Serpent made them feel they had. Concupiscence manifested in them (We all want to live, of course) and they ate. Unfortunately, they gained the wisdom, but now they interpret that wisdom as them needing to clothe themselves by their own effort. A never ending cycle of trying to satisfy your own lack when only God can do that. The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was intended to show them to the Tree of Life so that they may live forever. Satan deceived them, and caused all of this.

@@conk3rryan422 Appreciate it. People need to see that our Sin wasn't a problem to God, he wasn't gonna let that stop his love for us and stop his plan for humanity. Sin needs to be seen as a intruder, rather than what we falsely think is some inherent identity of ours. Being a Sinner just means someone who does not partake in the divine nature. Humans need to be viewed from the point of God's love and will for us, not defined by Sin. Satan is judged and condemned so harshly for a reason.

Andrew Kibler “what we falsely see as an inherent identity of ours” in reference to sin. Doesn’t Jeremiah say “the heart is desperately wicked, who can know it?”. Doesn’t James say we sin when “we are drawn away of our OWN lust.”? It is an inherent identity to the natural man, so in other words, it is an inherent part of us. Man is not fundamentally good, nor is he fundamentally evil. We are sinful by nature, but divine by spirit. Caught between the two.

Andrew Kibler I appreciate your response! This is not to say God created us sinful. Rather, he created us with a choice. Do we follow the “natural” part of man which Paul talks heavily about. Or do we follow the “spiritual” part of man. He who walks by faith. Sin is an inherent part of man but he doesn’t have to be defined by that. The “renewing of your minds” and “the putting off of the old man”, if we start with the assumption that evil is external from man, then there is no need for any renewing.

I've watched a few of your videos to include Genesis 3a, which were truly insightful. However, I believe you are way off as it pertains to Genesis 3:16. You point out the difference between conception and birth, which is fine, but then, you give commentary stating that the verse is referring to anxiety fueled by uncertainty in the *Future* conditions and needs of her children. I just don't see this being reality. Normally the only time someone has anxiety at conception, is if they didn't want to get pregnant. But that is certainly not what the scriptures are talkin about. Furthermore, grief or *anxiety in conception* is not the same as *anxiety about your child's future.* The argument could then be made that if that is the band width of conception anxiety, then that would include the pains of childbirth as well. This is why I believe the traditional translation of this passage is more accurate. Pain, sickness, anxiety, grief, and death were not God's original plan. But we know that child birth brings with it extreme grief in the form of pain and anxiety. When it comes to a woman's desire being for a husband, and him ruling over her, I think this is pointing to a physical out working of a spiritual truth, sort of like homosexuality in Romans 1... Namely, that the parable of man's rebellion towards God's headship and authority will be lived out through the marriage covenant. This will cause tension that will result in the man asserting and subsequently abusing his authority over her.

"I just don't see this being reality. " Why not? Exiled from the garden, with food and livelihood being uncertain, why would she not have anxiety for her children and grandchildren? To say otherwise makes no sense whatsoever. "Normally the only time someone has anxiety at conception, is if they didn't want to get pregnant." In the ancient world, the opposite was feared, that a wife would NOT get pregnant. You can't compare today's casual sex environment with the ancient world. "This will cause tension that will result in the man asserting and subsequently abusing his authority over her." This sounds like a feminist reading of the text, rather than a scholarly reading of it.
