I mean, I’m pretty sure it’s a bug, not a consequence of the gun being powerful, so it’s less of a nerf and more of a fix. Though the former is a result of the latter

When a target is hit directly again, the impact damage skyrockets. Im assuming the bug stacks fireteam blights into a random delete button

It's just the game struggling to calculate the DoT. Just like the bug with Jotuun a little while ago. They won't nerf the gun, they're just gonna fix the bug.

im 90% sure it activates when 3 or more hit roughly at the same time. Morgeth insta died when he got hit by four at the same time. Dont quote me on it but try it ig idk

People have confirmed that this is exactly how it works. The only thing you got wrong is that it is 2 or more people, not 3 or more.

Can confirm. It worked for me and my friend. But the time window for matching up your shots is like milliseconds.

I think the AoI is causing the bug. It looks like every boss is kinda recalculating the debuffs etc after a certain time / phase. And the blights/Impact of the GL are ignoring this (so they keep damaging with the debuff calculation which should be >100%) which is why it deals tons of damage in a super short span.

@@same2799 it took a day to disable other exotics. Telesto, winters guile. They got disabled an hour after being known so they could and wouldn't affect the race. The raid would release on friday or next tuesday and it would have been patched by then

With the Harpy I somehow managed to get an Infinite DPS phase to start. I think you have to get tick damage with the witherhoard at the Last Second we then killed it with Melee. It was fun.

if you switch to heavy and look at the sky you'll see a blight if you have ammo in the mag of the witherhoard. I'm pretty sure that has some correlation

So, for the most part, I think I know how the bug works. Because it does tick damage and it does so much damage per tick When six people use it, it overloads the system and the game gets confused so it just removes most of the bosses/enemies health as a rough estimate to what it thinks the damage should be because it cant keep up.

its because of the direct impact damage, that yellow number before the tick, if you keep firing it it will stack and cause the boss to insta die

through my own clan's testing, and looking at this footage frame by frame, it seems to be triggered when at least two grenades hit the boss within a few frames of each other. i dont know what happend under the hood, but we believe that's what triggers it.

Ok so we just tried this in GoS and for some reason we can NOT get it to work. It did a huge chunk of his health once but it wasn’t enough to kill him in one phase and we never got it to work again. We ended up almost enraging him because we had to do so many damage phases. I’m not sure if it’s random or what but we only got a huge damage burst once like you see in the video

The game registers all 6 wither hoard shots as 1 and gives x6 dmg to one player so each player's damage gets x6 and the dot kicks in insta killing anything.

I think this actually has to do with the lore of savathun, the witch queen. The witherhoard is like telling savathun and oryx and crota and all the hive and taken ever to kill the boss so it does. Prob won't get patched because of the lore.
