3/22/2022 (Firmware v1.4.57.4) UPDATE - I ran another 1HR overheating test at 110˚ with the One RS. Still didn't overheat! Should I just keep pushing it? lol -I've been getting a lot of comments asking if there's still a break in footage that gets recorded at the 30 minute mark like the previous version. The good news is that we don't get any breaks in footage at 30 minutes anymore. But bad news is that it still happens at the 90 minute mark. In my test, the clips get split exactly at 90 minutes, and there was a 7 second gap in footage before the new clip started. So I guess that's a big improvement from the previous version, but if you think you'll be recording 1.5hrs+ clips consecutively, you will have a gap in footage. If you know of any updates, reply to this comment and lemme know!

Great review as always... the best I've seen today. Very in-depth! With that said, lighting seems to still be tricky with this 2022-released action cam. Most of the footage with any sort of challenging lighting doesn't look very good to me. Looks great with tons of light, but wow... still limited with such a small sensor I guess.

All these companies throw out pre-production unfinished stuff and us end users don't get our favourite tech source channels telling us if they ar actually any good AFTER the production model is released. I think it’s a mistake to do sample footage with “default” settings. The task is to see how well it performs. If it performs better in a higher dynamic range setting - a flat profile - use that. The Osmo is amazing if the cine setting. Night and day compared to “default”

Excellent review, this is a solid upgrade over the first R1. The biggest improvement seems to be with the Action camera module. This is an interesting concept, a product that replaces an Action camera and a 360 camera for not much more than the cost a stand alone camera. Thanks for sharing.

but you can not order the 48MP alone...You have to buy the complete camera, so however it is compatible, but it has no sense.

I own a Yi4k camera, and even if it's already discontiuned, you can monitor your recordings with the app. I'm looking forward to upgrade it, originally I wanted a Gopro 10, but now I don't know which camera would be better.

to be honest, I sometimes don't like that modular design, especially with the 'old' 1'' module, if you have to change batteries, you have to unscrew the lenscap, unlock the casing.. Also that flimpsy 'door' on the side, really sucks in that casing... I lost already one, since it's not very good attached. I could film 5.4K though for 30 minutes or so, while the GoPro10 stopped already at 10minutes (I have a fix, use external power without a battery... you get a warning but it does work).

Resolve was a nightmare on my last edit. I wanted to love it. Back to Premiere. Great footage though. I like the GoPro due to the ability to record seconds prior to pressing record. That’s key to me.

You def. put a lot of time into this edit! Think you did Insta360 a favor by using external audio throughout this video. From what I’ve heard so far the audio needs some more work. How my SIM time you putting in because your FPV skills are looking great! Got the iFlight Nazgul Evoque and Flywoo firefly 🔥 myself. I’m really in need of a good small camera for the 1.6” firefly at the moment. Keep up the great work! 👍👍

that's the LA River on the 6th street...right next to downtown LA. they filmed a lot of movies there. and indeed In Time was filmed here.

I never considered the insta brand but this thing is pretty legit. Also I had build one of those 2 stroke assist bikes about 10 years ago and that thing would rattle so much I always needed to bring tools to bolt on my parts that fell off. AND YEAHHHH. MORE FPV! What camera angle do you shoot at btw? Awesome vid!

I came to your video first because I knew you'd have FPV clips! Nice! I use the 1"mod for all my cinewhooping. Hard to beat for anything indoors or indoor/outdoor transitions. It'd be interesting to see 1" mod with the new HDR for the drone work. Any increase in codec quality with this new version?

It's incredible what such a small camera can put out, but at the same time I still don't like the oversharpened looking footage and brightened up / HDR / noisy shadows as much.

Please cover in greater detail the biggest problem with the Insta core module, Which is either the internal sound chip/USB adapter has limited bandwidth and a terrible frequency response from 12kHz and therefore is useless for even semi pro sound capture. You have to resort to external sound recording and then resyncing which is a pain.

hello great review, I have a couple of questions to ask, putting the 4k module when you have 4/5 videos you can select and if you want the app makes you a video of 3 lengths automatically and it's convenient to do things fast and send them in network and it's ok, but with the 360 degree module this function doesn't exist right ?? the other question, the tag during a 4k video can be done by typing in the flag of the monitor or by voice, but with the remote control you can not do it ??? thank you very much for a kind reply and continue so that you are the best

Insta360 finally using a bigger sensor so will DJI now use a bigger sensor in the Pocket 3 (or whatever they decide to call it)? I think the video from the One RS looks better than the Pocket 2 (though it destroys the RS in low-light) but what is your opinion?

We love watching your videos!!!! We shoot RV tours. We are interested in this camera because of the flexiblity of shooting 16:9 as well as 360. We want our audience to be able to interact with the video and move it around like you would touring a house or apartment. Would you recommend this camera for that purpose? GOOD BOY 👏 exhaustive tutorial !! However, I add a DEFECT that I found and I i to check video recordings, the synchronization between action cam and iPhone (latest generation) is out of phase. In other words, the app sometimes delays the shooting and sometimes freezes the recording. It is therefore very difficult 😞 to operate with precision.

Daycent. Thanks for putting it through it's paces. I ordered one and only found out afterwards, that there is a new USB soundcard, which obviously didn't make it into my order. Bah ! Lets see, if they'll amend my order, cause i'm refusing to pay shipping on that one. From the product and spec sheet, it sounds like webcam works on all modules now. Not sure, if you've tested that. It would be dope, if webcam works with the 1" sensor. (It does not on the One R)

I hope they improved the mic on this RS. Just bought OneR couple of weeks ago and mic is a crap on R model. Just tried it on a track day. Pity Garmin discontinued their camera department and didn't update their Virb360 with their ambient 4 mics. That would be a top cam in smaller form factor and keeping all the features from the first model.

Just bought everything I need to start FPV last week which includes the Nazgul Evoque F5D HD 6S, DJI goggles, DJI fpv controller, 3 FULLSEND 1300mAh lipos, hobbymate d6 duo pro charger and of course I bought a new gopro hero 10….I’ve gone out to fly twice and man is it way different than flying a DJI drone but I’m hooked. I haven’t opened the gopro yet because I was hung up on wanting to purchase a decased/naked gopro but now I’m wondering if I should even go the gopro route. What do you think Mr. Potato 🥔?
