When you used the wood, are both vents wide open like the fuel cans?
@NoRoadNoProblemAdventures

By opening the vents you are increasing the temperature. So if you want to increase the temperature then yes open the vents so more air gets in.

After the sticks / charcoal catch fire, do you drop them onto the tray or keep them on the wire screen until they turn to ash? Is the ash tray just for starting the fire and catching the ashes/ embers?

Would pre heat time increase using wood and oven outside during colder temperatures?
@NoRoadNoProblemAdventures
@NoRoadNoProblemAdventures 8 ай бұрын
Haven’t tested that since it’s not that cold yet. But I don’t think it’ll make that much difference specially with wood sticks.

I have two questions 1. Can it be used indoors with a chimney directed outside? 2. Does it create enough external heat to warm up a room? Cant decide between this oven and the instafire that heats up a room.
@NoRoadNoProblemAdventures
@NoRoadNoProblemAdventures 8 ай бұрын
If you are planning to use wood chips for indoors, I wouldn’t recommend it. But with the fuel cans it’s just fine. It doesn’t create decent amount of heat but not sure enough heat to heat up a room. Also it depends on what size room of course.

8:08 you'd definitely want to use sticks, leaves etc. outside. Was the side vent open or closed for either experiment?
@NoRoadNoProblemAdventures
@NoRoadNoProblemAdventures 2 ай бұрын
In order to increase the temperature (when using the wood sticks) the vents should be open. If the temperature is rising too much then you can partially close the vents.

I think as a way to use this indoors then waiting the 70 minutes is worth having it especially in a grid down situation. Other than putting one of the cans out if too hot it was low maintenance in comparison to having to add twigs to it. I have several ovens also (sun oven, coleman oven and a diy apple box oven) but this one is unique in that it was designed to be used indoors as well as outdoors. Either way, it’s different strokes for different folks but I’m the 10 is 9, 9 is 8, etc…. mentality for which my husband just simply cannot understand. I tell him better than being a collector of diamonds!

8"x12" oven... which genius at InstaFire decided to make an oven chamber just a hair too small to accept standard 9"x13" pans that have been around for a hundred years? Or was it more of a "buy our custom size pans" when you order our expensive fuel cans kind of move? it's a great first concept, but needs a bit of kitchen common sense to really make it useful.

I purchased this Instafire Ember indoor/outdoor oven just in case of a prolonged electrical outage. I didn’t consider that the internal dimensions of the oven were not standard and my cookware does not fit. I am looking on Amazon for some pans that I can use with this oven. Any suggestions from other viewers would be greatly appreciated. What size is the pan that you are using Gagik? Thanks, nice video.

😂😂 my mic was on me and it has noise cancellation so that’s why you can’t hear it in the video. In the user manual it says to leave both vents open for airflow to reach higher temperature so that’s why i left them open specially when using wood sticks if the vents are closed there is no air flow so the fire turns off.
