I have a '13 250L and had to replace this part at 5500 miles. After watching this I'm really hoping I have the tension set correctly! Excellent video.

Thank you for the video. My 2016 CRF250L started rattling at 9,000 miles. I installed the Krieger CCT yesterday - she's purring like new again. I had a lot of trouble removing the larger cap; I had to use a flat head screw driver and a hammer (a few shots of vodka and tobacco helped as well). I have no idea why they manufactured the cap the way they did - maybe, because they want you to take the motorbike to the dealership. Other than the CCT problem, I have had no other problems; its a fantastic machine and this is coming from someone who rode a Yamaha WR450R in the past. I installed a 45 tooth sprocket and it made a HUGE difference - it doesn't bog down anymore and its performs much better on the highway. I absolutely love my CRF250L and I have no desire for another motorbike. I wanted to mention that your advertisements during the video are messed up; you could be losing revenue. I've noticed the problem on other KZfaq channels as well. I'm starting my channel, KZfaq better address the problem. By the way, I love the reference to Dumb and Dumber at the beginning.....ha ha ha

Thanks this is the most thorough and comprehensive tutorial. I have watched very many videos and I did not find even one that explained the steps. Most had you start the engine with the tension lose then tighten until the chain got quite!! Again I would like to thank you for sharing your expertise.

thanks for the good video.. my third cam chain tensioner andstill fail.. i ll go for manual but how can i buy Krieger tensioner easily from Turkey.. can you please show me to way to buy. and do we really need to set cam shaft position.. I had installed the automatic one before without setting the camshaft position.

About the engine plugs on the left side, do you need to drain the oil to have the stock replaced? Thanks in advance.

I've got an 05 crf250x that I think has a failure with the tensioner. Do you think going with a manual tensioner without replacing the chain too will be a safe route?

What year is your bike and what years is that timing chain tensioner good for I have a 2019 and got a 2013 to 2017 timing chain tensioner will it still work with mine I couldn't find any other tensioners for a 2019

I just did this on my bike. But as soon as the rattle sound is gone, a whining sound starts near the cam chain/cam sprockets area.
