I recommend a needle nose pliers instead. When these things don’t pop in it’s a nightmare. Easy fix as he showed here: Hook one end between the 2 fixed clips at the bottom. Hook the other end onto the springy part opposite it. Squeeze so you gently pull the springy part TOWARDS the two fixed clips. Now seat the hinge. If it seats but is a little loose, push the springy part gently AWAY from the two fixed clips and try again. Should sit in there perfectly.

Do you want to drive yourself crazy? I purchased these clip-on devices hoping to have soft close cabinet doors in my kitchen. I installed two on one of my cabinet doors quickly and easily, they slipped right on with no problem. Since these were upper cabinets I installed them by feel rather than by sight. Next I tried with out success to install them on other hinges throughout my home. All of my hinges are Blum hinges and none of them would accept the Blum clip-ons. After several days of trying to figure out what I was doing wrong I noticed that the first cabinet hinges that I installed the clip-ons on were different than all of the other hinges on my cabinets. All of my other cabinets' hinges are light bronze colored, rather than chrome color, the opening is slightly rectangular, rather than square, and there is only one screw on the facing rather than two screws as on the hinge that accepted the clip-ons. Wish I had noticed this important difference prior to purchasing these clip-ons and spending so much time fiddling with them,
