Install whirlybird vent/wind turbine on my shipping container & prevent container rain & remove heat

I've had this shipping container for a few years now and over the hot/cold cycles though the seasons, this thing will rain inside. I installed two vents on the doors and still rained inside. Here we install a whirlybird wind turbine to see if it helps. so far the temperature is not near as hot as it use to be and doesn't smell as damp/mildew. I think this is a great fix for these containers! hope you enjoy!

I don't like making holes in roofs... but if I had to, I'd probably do exactly as you showed there. That should be leak-free for a very long time, with the caulk protected from UV light by the sheet material.

What type of jig saw blade did you use and how long did that take you? I'm seriously impressed. My handyman used a grinder and burned that few diamond wheels and took him a couple days to make an opening for a door.

Thanks, I am a fan of Lenox saw blades. I don’t remember if I used thin metal blade or the heavy metal blade. The part numbers are 314S and 324S. It took me at the most 10 minutes to cut it out. I was completely shocked how well and fast these blades cut this out. Good luck and thanks for watching!!

I should do this just to see, I will say it feels a lot less damp and doesn't have as much of a musty smell in there now.

A contractor gave it to me so not sure the exact name but it is basically Ice Shield that wasn't sticky any more so I heated it and stuck great.

What keeps the rain out? Here in Florida it rains sideways a lot during storms.

In extremally heavy rains it will keep the majority of the rain out but not all. The rain hits the louvers and drips on a drip edge preventing most of the rain from going inside. Also the pipe inside is about half way up inside the spinner to help with rain. I've only had a few times rain got in and was only a drip or two.
