Would a small off grid system. Using alot of led lighting. With bad power factor benifit from added capacitors?

LED lights have a good power factor. Normally close to unity. However a poor power factor will certainly be improved be addition of capacitors

Please contact L&T service centre for checking this relay. First you will have to log complain using L&T customer care

How to compensate the no load power factor of transformer. I have Havells 11003 ipfc but in night when all load is off (but controller is on) still power factor in ht meter showing 0.2. can u tell how to overcome this problem

You need to add capacitor at transformer LV side to match transformer losses.

Yes, you can manually switch on and off the capacitor banks. But it's drawback is that you will have to continuously monitor the current power factor and adjust the capacitor banks based on reading of power factor.

@@starautomation thanks a million time.... One more question... I can't find the pf monitor in my state here in Nigeria so I want to to be controlling it manually when there is load.. But if I leave it on when is no load what will be the effect.... TOTAL LOAD= 1000KW .. CAPACITOR BANK = 400KVAR STEP= 8 STEP (45KVAR each )

In practical situation, we use capacitor selection chart provided by all capacitor manufacturers. In these charts, we can select the kvar capacity required to achieve desired power factor at a particular load.

12 steps for Apfc panel, that's literally overkill. It's more like wireman level design.Sorry, but it is truth.

Industrial APFC controller is available in steps of 6, 8, 12 and 16. We have to use one of these controllers based on our requirement to manufacture APFC Panel.

@@starautomation Yes, i know that.We mfg Apfc panels as well.What i pointed out, is your design flaw. More the no. Of steps= More contactor switching = More chances of contactor getting damaged.
