You could have an exhaust shop weld in a custom J pipe. It’s a Helmholtz resonator just like Motordyne has but it’s the cheaper route.

Do you have an exhaust leak? I hear a whistle when your off throttle. Just curious because I hear the same noise after I went catless

What you’re hearing is called rasp, very common once you remove your cats!

You could add a resonated y pipe from z1 or circuit werks and that would help a bit on the rasp and drone. It also doesn’t help that most of not all eBay gaskets are terrible over time and can tend to leak fyi lol. Look in to czp thick gaskets just for future reference. Still sounds better than the peasant VQ straight pipe 😂

I bought the circuit werks y pipe and I think I’ll make many iterations of plug and play resonators and find which sound I like the best I need to look at those czp gaskets aswell, that straight pipe sounds wild looking back at it 😂😭

Bro have the same one for the moment it sounds so good about a month of ownership way better than the muffler delete 😂 but yes agree the droning is crazy but I don’t really mind atm, also plan on doing a rear mounted turbo set up eventually.

Good stuff Joe! NGL it doesn't sound too bad with the silencer on or off to me. Too bad the exhaust drones so much for you. I'm getting a single exit ISR catback installed in a couple of weeks on my mostly to be tracked coupe. Are you planning on trimming your diffuser or nah?

Hearing it back, besides the small rasp towards the lower rpm, it sounds very good, the drone has been so bad I get headaches afterwards so that’s a top priority now! As for trimming the diffuser, I honestly hadn’t even thought about it but I definitely will consider it now, I’ll see how it looks on other cars and possibly do it! Thanks for the recommendation brother!

Hey your videos have helped me so much; I'm glad I could toss a tip your way! I think it looks pretty good on G coupes I've seen with single exits, so I'm planning on trimming my diffuser to help show the ISR off a little. It also eliminates any diffuser melting. Good luck with your drone mitigation!

Yeah I agree! a quality exhaust doesn’t really have these issues but now that I’m in this pickle, I’ll try to solve drone for anyone else with this issue! Win win for everyone 😄👍

I have isr longtubes y pipe and exit it’s loud but glad it’s not the loudest but sounds amazing some people out there sounding loud and riced asf 😂

And yes with performance and also sound wise it gives it a way deeper tone if your planning on getting longtubes I’d suggest going with ISR don’t bother with PPE they are expensive and personally to what I see not all that worth for 2k
