Learn how to install a cricket behind a chimney. A cricket is typically installed around the chimney in order to divert water away from the flashing and masonry. Crickets are a triangular structure that are built over top the existing roof in order to prevent leaks.
In some areas crickets are a mandatory element to your roof installation and depending on the width of the chimney and the pitch of the roof.

That’s my first time seeing that type of roofing, I’ve been doing traditional asphalt shingles and long steel roofing for about ten years(I’m only 23) how do these metal shingles hold up in strong wind? We usually get at least 3 storms a year with 160kmh+ wind. We have to put a fairly thick layer of plastic cement on every asphalt shingle tab and a screw every 16 inches on long steel or they’ll be gone in one good storm.
