Today we are installing a front leveling kit on a 1999 Ford F250 SuperDuty with the 7.3 Diesel engine. This truck was bought for $500 by my friend. We are going through the truck and making it nice.

Seeing him gorilla those calipers off was amusing. Personally i like to relieve a bit of the pressure from the caliper with a bar and then compress them a little bit. Make sure your Cap is off. They'll come off easier and go back on much easier.

I’d check the oil dipstick tube first my old excursion had a healthy leak there, also the valve cover gasket leaked with the turbo pedestal. She’s completely rebuilt now though with some full force 180/30s a hydra and stage 2 Kc and man that thing runs so good! The ol f2 hoop looking good!

If you can properly weld it's not compromised. And personally i recommend welding the net your replacing that stsmped one with. If you're in there you may as well correct fords mistake. Just make sure you grind your welds and hit them with a little paintNo one will ever know.

there's always a better option that blowing a window in your frame. simply cut the head, get the track bar out of the way, cut the bolt again flush with the frame, then drill the remaining bolt out. if the nut is spinning and has broken free from the steel piece, hit the bolt with a punch and hammer and pop the nut free completely so you can remove the metal plate piece and either leave the broken nut/bolt in the frame forever or fish it out with a magnet. costs you a few hours of frustration, but always beats compromising your frame

Man, I see your point on this, but here's the kicker. When you cut the head off, move the bracket out of the way and cut the bolt flush, you still have over an inch of bolt in there above the captive nut, which will not come out vertically. Drilling is cool, but since the nut is broken loose, it'll just spin with the bit. Been there, done that a whole lotta times. When all that happens, you're down to option 2, which is using a torch or plasma to liquify the remaing bolt. It's a mess.

Well done and very informative. All I have to do is find a 2nd Gen Dodge or an early 2000 Ford pickup for cheap so I can do these mod's to. will just be a work truck for projects or inclement weather so my Genesis stays in the garage.

My 99 4x4 was so low in the front and it looked like it was a 2wd. I gained 3 &3/4 a inch in the front of mine when i did the leveling kit. My kit added 4 leafs to each side.

That trac bar can be unbolted from bottom two bolts to put back on use a ratchet strap to pull it over Frame never get touch

Yes, but it does have to be unbolted at the top also in order to install the spacers needed to drop the bar down.

Nice job ! I don't think I will need that since mine has a 12 ft Dumb bed on it LOL! It is a four-wheel drive with a dumb!

i put the same 3inch kit on my 01 and it lifted the front 3.5 somehow and the back was squatting 2 inches so i put a 3 inch block in the rear and it leans just a bit, reminder the rear already had a 2 in it

Looks easy enough to do, i purchased the same lift kit, but mine is missing the spacers for the track bar, how thick are those? Ill make my own

They are just very thick washers - maybe 7/16" thick or so.

It's a bear. I used a ratchet strap and floor jack to get it back into place.

Hey guys!! Glad to have found this channel loving all of the content, but I’m going to throw my own question out there for the wiring 99-03 7.3 guys. I want to swap a 06 lariat interior in and the connectors are different and so is the wiring just a bit… has anyone else done this swap and have any help to give when it comes to getting the wiring done for the driver and passenger side?

You mean for the power seats and seat heat? If so, you can probably "improvise" a connector.

Yes sir, got the seats installed bolts right up nice and easy, the issue is the 3 wire connector setup from the old harness into the new 5 wire plug on the new seats 06 with heat. My issue is , is there any way to hook up the heat or will you only be able to get power seats out of it? Secondly is there anything you can do for the passenger side as it’s electric as well

35’s on a 20x10? Did you rub at all? Looking at putting one on with a ranch hand bumper and worried I’ll rub with 35’s.

This truck has 33's on it, no rubbing. My personal truck (2000 F250 7.3) has 35's and rubbed a bit at full turn. I ended up using a heat gun and massaging the inner fenders a bit.

Could you not just get an adjustable track bar?

Big thing is to locate the track bar down more, away from the frame. As you lift the frame away from the axles, the angle of that trackbar increases. The more angle, the more pronounced "bump steer" is. Ideally, I'd like to have that bar dropped another 1/2" or so.
