What jolly fun! I knew Willis Jackson who was an artist with a backhoe/front loader. I was never afraid he'd hit me. He told me the way to avoid shoring was a 45 degree slope and multiplied the length by the depth and converted it into passes within a couple of seconds. Never more than 3 off.

Happened on your video by accident. Wow, I was fascinated by what one man can do with a couple of machines. It's obvious you know your shit. I stayed up late just watching you build a road and clear those trees and all that construction work took me back to my childhood in Texas. Great video.

Those trailers are neat. Its cool seeing the progress of a single job.

Nice job Jesse. You save a lot of time if you will ask the delivery driver to do a tailgate spread for you. They can chain the tailgate so that it will only open to about 2-4 inches. Then when the dump they drive forward and the material will spread out for you. You will still have some spreading to do but it does save some time.

Excellent video and construction project. Good music choices. Only negative was no fading to black between a few scenes. Thought my internet died when I saw a black screen. Seeing how you moved those buildings around I now know how the Pyramids were built. Love the aerial shots. Keep up the good work!

Jesse, I watched the video when you created that 'claw' for your excavator. I am pretty sure you were creating it in order to help with pulling stumps; but, in this video, you show that it is an effective tool to use on those hillsides with the soft shale. You were able to harvest a lot of good shale to use on the lower part of the driveway. I also enjoy watching the videos you create when you are building and framing. Keep it up, you do great work.

Great video, great operator. We use crushed concrete a lot here at the plant I work at. I’m about to install a 2000’ driveway and will probably use it for base. It does work great. One draw back it has is in dry weather when it gets windy. It throws off an incredible amount of dust, even a couple years after being down. Not a huge deal if you cap it.

Hey Jesse, loved the video, you’re really improving over the last year. I’m glad that you decided to speak more, you do it better than most and it adds a lot to your content. As a dad with a son your age I think its pretty special that you found a friend in A/C with similar interest to share. If you show up with 8 wave runners and 6 excavators I’ll know that you’ve been spending too much time together. LOL Best wishes.

Only thing I might add is make that 16-20 yard gravel truck earn his keep. 6 inches on the gate and a gentle spread. It's smooth and flat. " gravel dog Lange" Nice video and very safely done.

After watching countless hours of your terrific work, I do not recall you ever mentioning what the pooch's name is. Seems her trust factor in you is like .....oh, IDK, INFINITE!

Really good work. Good stable base with the shale rock and crushed concrete. I am a little concerned about where the water is gonna go because I didn't see you put ditches down the sides. If you crowned the road really good you shouldn't have a problem but I can't tell from the video how much crown is in the road. That would be my only negative about your work but I may be wrong about this and just missed seeing the ditches in the video. (I'm not trying to be an ass, and hope I don't sound like one, just making an observation).Other than that you've done a great job and it looks really nice and looks like it will work very well. Always keep heading forward to bigger and better things. 👍

You do a great job, and I enjoy your video. I have used crushed concrete in the past. It is inexpensive, and packs down really well. It does however leach chemicals into runoff and changes the ph of the adjacent soil. That is why I quit using it. Don't know if that makes any difference where you are building. Thanks for the vids.

You got it done, that's a lot of work to do with a little 35, that's an easy driveway, some of the places around here now driveways are 4 wheel drive needed when they are paved, nasty, easy building lots are long gone.

Superior soundtrack, Jesse. And often nicely synced to the machine's movement. And pleasant enough that I do wonder what the audio tracks were! Natural sound is suitable when the video runs at 1x, but the music helps at the higher speeds, and with drone video.

15:15 ... I would have bet 15 bucks that truck is stuck in that mud but man, it pulled right out. Besides I find it so cool that you used the recycled concrete from the Tappan Zee Bridge. Now when people pull up to the lot and later to the house, the owner can ask them ....... How was your drive over the Tappan Zee Bridge? Great conversation starter and what a nice touch having a driveway made from the material of such a great (former) historic monument of highway construction.
