To push theJeep to the next phase of its build, I need some supporting mods. Installing a Spectre cowl intake will remove the air box under the hood and free up valuable room in the engine bay for coilovers. It will help lower the engine intake air temps, and gives a little more throttle response.
I was in the market for a cowl intake. I like the idea of using the cowl to protect the intake from the elements, and pulling cooler air from outside the engine bay. A snorkel could work , but it is not my first choice with the direction I am going with FM. Trailhead offroad (THOR) offers a great kit, but I didn't like the pricetag. Spectre offered a few variances of the intake I have, but unfortunately the company has disconnected them. I believe I have a very early version of the intake. I have seen a version where the pipe was mandrel bent into the right shape instead of pie cut and tig welded. I will keep an eye out for one of those, but this one should suffice.
I could have easily built one, but the cost of materials was more than what I paid for this used.
One thing I didnt like about the THOR intake is that you do alot of work in the cowl to get it to work. The Spectre puts the filter in a easy place to get to. I think this piece is probably the most crucial if you were to make your own.

The next would be the adapter for the firewall.
You could probably get by with something like this.

If you want to help out the channel I have a merch store.
