Glad I watched this install.....step bolts were a nightmare....my advice give each a good heat before you try to undo them.....I had major problems with one of the bolts that go into the fabricated double nut plate.... And you can't get a grinder into it to cut it off, so perseverance, a hammer and a 17mm multipoint socket rather than an 18mm worked brilliant. Fitting was nice n easy, chassis all predrilled, only thing I say is when you assemble the towbar put a jack under the beam and lift it upwards until it stops.... Then tighten up the bolts on the chassis, was quite surprised at the movement available of the plates that attach to the chassis....I think the holes on the plates should really be machined a bit smaller according to the bolt threads. And good to see the fog light comment..... That's last job today after bypass relay and socket wiring 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I’m glad it helped! Yea good tip with the jack probably should have done that myself. Wiring isn’t too difficult I had to go back to mine so I would Google the bypass relay wiring I did have a document I used but I lost it 🤦🏼‍♂️ Jason

Hi I was watching the video of the sprinter van bypass relay but it ran out right at the important part the colouring of the sprinter van have you done a part 2 to complete the wiring job

Hi there! At 2:30-2:40 I put the colours of the bypass relay and the colours of the sprinters loom so all you have to do is match them up and your sorted 😄

Ok, ive watched a couple of vids with the electric fittings, some open the lights an connect to the system there, i have put my wire to the socket from the top out the light as you have. The question that i have is the wires to both sides split a the top in the plastic trunking, can you just connect to the wire at this position?

Yes this was how I did mine found where it went across and just connected it there 😁

Wondering if you have towed a car with the Sprinter yet? I'm sure your cars are lighter than my VW Jetta TDI I'm preparing to do but I think it can be done. The car weighs 3000 pounds & the Sprinter is rated for 5000 pounds. My 16 foot trailer I'm hoping weighs under 1700 pounds I'm sure. Chains & binders etc will put me pretty close to maximum forsure. My main concern is the 500 pound maximum tongue weight on the ball itself. Any experience if any would be great if you have done so. My plan is to back the car on to the trailer to reduce the weight up front & head to the scales. Thanks.

Hey! I have towed my race car to and from tracks on quite a few occasions now and it goes amazingly well. However, like you say I’m towing a tad lighter. My race car weights 1000kg (2200 pounds) and my trailer is probably only around 500kg (1100 pound) maybe even a tad lighter it is quite a small trailer. As you say to evenly distribute the load evenly you could reverse the car on as you say best bet would be to load it up and head to the scales where you can work it out a bit more accurately there. Not sure that helps you 🤣 Jason

@@TrackAndBeyond 😂 It's just good to touch base with someone that has done it. I will be near the max forsure & my van is a full build out too. Fully self sustainable by myself. I will touch base back & let you know if I can get the weights legal in a few weeks. Good to have these answers in the comments for others if anything. Will keep you posted.
