Installing Edelbrock E Street aluminum heads on my Chevy 350. I will be installing the engine in my 1971 Corvette.

Use a shorter extension or a deep well sockets when doing torque values. It will make it easier plus it will give a more accurate torque.

Thanks for the information. I'm hoping this is the last engine I have to put together. My goal in the future is to buy completed cars.

Looks great. That’s going to be a really nice retro mod engine. What are you expecting as far as compression ratio and potential HP?

It is just stock compression, around 9 to 1. Not sure on HP. The cam is stock with hyd lifters and stock rocker arms. If I did it again, I would go with a mild cam, roller lifters and rocker arms. Maybe on the next car.

@@timewiththedurbins It’ll be plenty to move that car around. Should be a solid, low maintenance engine that starts right up and runs smooth.

@@timewiththedurbins hi, what stock cam? how much lift? how did it perform at the end? I just installed e street heads on stock sbc with stock cam and i am interested what it will do...

I’m reusing my APR bolts putting my vortex heads back on after swapping rocker studs. The bolts obviously have the assembly still on them but what lube/sealer did you use.

It makes me nervous watching you do the torque, I'm afraid your going to do harm to your shoulder. Just be careful. Nice video, sis 😃

That was before my surgery and it was pretty painful. I was in less pain after the surgery than I was the days leading up to the surgery.

Can you run 2 different sbc heads that are the same besides one being angle plugs heads and the other being straight plugs heads on the same engine?

Not sure why you would want to do that. There are several schools of thought on straight versus angled plugs. The original reason for the angled plug head is to get the spark plug as close to the center of the cylinder and exhaust valve to increase power. The straight plug heads were later redesigned to move the plug closer to the center of the cylinder and exhaust valve, so the performance advantage is not that great anymore. You can run a straight plug head and an angled plug head on the same engine at the same time. I don't recommend or advise that you do that.
