Hi Rodger. Using elements board for the first time on walls and floor. Do you leave a small gap between the boards or but them up against each other? Thanks

Does wedi have this aswell? The extra linear drain i wish to put in the door way as a overflow incase the shower linear gets blocked. I think its better to do this on the inner side of the door?

what if you have a building that maybe prone to some movement, old houses? is it still ok to install a wet room?

The EPS tile backing boards are a better choice than waterproof plasterboards? Do they soundproof better?

Do you guys have a list of approved installers? What about in central scotland? I'm so worried about getting someone in to do this and it not working out.

Can you put a small electric under floor matt under the tiles?

Stephen, thank you for your comment, all are welcome even if negative. To explain, the reason we recommend tile trim to go around the drain is that the customers can use any thickness of tile so the tiler needs to use trims to suit the particular tile choice. Obviously there only ever 3 pieces of trim required with the Infinity drain as you do not need one on the back edge. Also clients may want to use use coloured trims etc. so we cannot really supply a universal part to suit all needs. Hope this helps explain but once again, we appreciate you taking the time to comment.

I have a downstairs shower room that has a concrete floor. To fit one of these, would it be OK to build a raised platform so that you are able to fit the trap underneath, plus accommodate the fall?

It's a shame they don't answer questions. Well I'm no expert but I think you could but you would be left with a step down out of your bathroom which may be a little odd? Or I suppose you could create a gradient slope out?

Hi Jivan - thank you for your message; it very much depends on what you'd class as novice as there is some joinery work involved, however if you are confident with this, there is no reason why you can't follow the steps shown by Roger!

Can you explain how if any water gets under the floor tiles, say a bit of floor grout fails, how would that water find the drain ? Your drain, like mine, seems to have a metal lip on it like mine. Which has failed. Water from under the tiles and has nowhere to go so puddled. It did not find the linear drain (because the linear drain had a metal up lip that stopped any water that was UNDER the tiles simply falling in to the drain) What am I missing here ? Anyone ?

No expert but at around the 7:00 mark you can see some closeups that show there's no lip from the slope into the drain. It looks like the metal lip is placed on top of this as a tile edge rather than being built into the base. So I guess if water is under the tiles it can flow under the "lip" too?

Hiii, I see this may be an issue on my installation and are thinking about it right now before I get to tilling I wondering if it is a good idea to leave few gaps in the polymer adhesive under the trim in a few places along the front edge, however if there was a lot of water maybe it would run around the trim and fall into the drain at the back perhaps? What did you do to resolve it?

Piecing 3 or 4 separate pieces of trim together and ensuring that they are level all round as well as being perfectly square and flush with each other is a massive, massive ball ache and is totally unnecessary in my opinion, it lets this system down big time! All that’s required is a pre-made trim to surround the drain that is perfectly square and all flush, that can be bedded on and quickly levelled to the millimetre, simple. I’ve stopped recommending these formers because of this.

Orrible detail that tapered insert. If you slant the whole floor it would look a lot better.

overkill selling product not required first you do not need to tank a wet room, i made my tray out of wickes post mix concrete bags x3 shutterd it with battening skimmed the surface to the drain so all waste water even from the leaking corner he points out which he covers in tape lol,shower base cost 24 pound ,the whole wet room cost the price of the base he is showing 800 pounds lol,been done three years no leaks no problems, the only tricky bit is the drain get a plumber 50.00 if not sure,the only room in a house that needs tanking is a celler if your using it as a room.
